2451: I'm a civilian in a law enforcement agency, but I love assisting with the role-play scenarios for the training academy. It's a lot of fun and I get to know some of the newer officers before they hit the streets. (also know which officers aren't going to/shouldn't make it)
I also like seeing "my" officers light up when I bring in holiday goodies. They turn into the proverbial kids in a candy store!
2453: both are actually presents I gave someone else: A couple of years ago, I lucked into a great Black Friday deal and got Ancestry.com DNA kits for both of my parents. Boy, was it hard to keep those a secret until Christmas! We had a pretty good idea of Mom's side of the family, but Dad's had always been a bit of a mystery. We learned a lot once the results came back!
Many years ago, I cross stitched a floral lace design pillow for my Gramma, using shades of peach, her favorite color. I did a matching one for my mom in purples. Gramma's decorated her bed until she passed away- now both grace Mom's bed.
