Regarding series, these are all fourth.
Hint: A couple don't always point north.
With several, certainly a sigh you will heave.
Still, in the end, a "bouncing" cupcake you'll receive.
Yes, this is a way to earn more "bouncing" cupcakes; the ones your Captain can redeem to make "chunksters" count as double the books.

PUZZLE #94: ~ Scrambled Bookcovers Forth in a Series ~

Do this when you need a break from reading.

You have until the end of the 7% Solution Challenge.

You can submit it as a Team, or send your best player to collect your cupcake.

Please DO NOT post solution here. Mail to ratminichallenges@gmail.com

Figure out the scrambled bookcovers. (author, title & series)

Remember, these bookcovers are all fourth in a series:

Here's a cover with some daring décolletage.
Really, there no place for a decorative corsage!
While a glimpse might cause a male to need heart massage,
Solving it, a cupcake won't be just a mirage.
PUZZLE #95: - Twenty-eight piece Slider puzzle is here. - (Behind Enemy Lines: Pewter Blue's Vicky) Okay to post in thread. Please take a screen print and show the "Very good, you win." box. Please do NOT just post the bookcover.

JoLene (trvl2mtns) | 705 comments Is anyone else having a "bug" in this slider where it seems that the correct picture is in the background and you can't see where your blank piece is???

This seems to be happening in all the slider puzzles for me. Maybe I updates my system and that has introduced an issue with these types of puzzles It makes them really hard to solve because you "see" double pieces and it's hard to see where your blank spot is.

Have you tried different browsers?
That happens to me when I open them in Chrome, but in Firefox they are working fine.

message 970: by Barbara ★ (last edited Jul 14, 2013 10:19AM) (new)

Barbara ★ It actually shows you which piece goes where which should be easier but it really isn't. Once a piece is in the correct spot it locks it in unless you move it out again.

message 971: by Lisa Kay (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments I didn't notice the "locking." However, once I played with it awhile and got used to it, I found it helpful. I didn't know it was a glitch. LOL!

message 972: by Vi (new)

Vi | 1758 comments It was a browser issue for me too. Happens only in chrome.

I can't open the sliders on 3 out of the 4 computers in my house no matter what browser. For some reason I can only get it to work on one computer using Safari. I think it must be a security thing.
That is why I *detest* these slider puzzles and have given up on them. It is just too hard! lol

Barb JoLene wrote: "Is anyone else having a "bug" in this slider where it seems that the correct picture is in the background and you can't see where your blank piece is???"

That's been happening for me for a month now. The only way I can solve the blasted things is to use a different computer, and that's not a viable option most of the time. Like Karen, I've given up on them.

I've had the issue from the start LK. I have asked team mates to do them, but no-one seems to like sliders...perhaps I should've tried bribes...lol
For me it just shows a static picture that can't be manipulated. Only on Safari on one computer can I get it to work properly and I can only use that computer when bub is asleep which is when I run around the house like a mad woman! Lol So I've just thrown in the towel ;)

Barb Lisa Kay wrote: "Well, that sucks. Did it start when the number of sliding pieces increased?"

The first one I had trouble with was Stardust, and I've had problems with every puzzle since. I've been able to snag daughter's computer a few times, but she's not keen on sharing with Mom.

I use Firefox and it happened there too but I actually thought it helped.

message 986: by Rhonda (new)

Rhonda | 550 comments I've done 17 or 18 sliders since the beginning of June, but they are now too time consuming for me. I have tried the last 2, but they were frustrating and after quite a lot of time, I gave up. There's too much going on for me in RL with health issues and family. I'll have another look in the coming days.

message 987: by Vicky (new)

Vicky (librovert) | 3137 comments That's so weird, I use Chrome exclusively and this is the first time I've had the issue of the cover being in the background.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments Now see, that is weird. Because I got the background in Everblue, but not for This Duchess of Mine - which was posted afterwards.

message 989: by Erica (new)

Erica | 352 comments The last time I tried a slider the picture came up, but when changed the puzzle size/shape it switched to a different puzzle picture. I tried multiple times and it did it every time.

Oops. sorry Vi you are correct. I use firefox at work but I did these puzzles at home using chrome.

Erica, I'm not sure what you mean by: "but when changed the puzzle size/shape - could you explain?

message 992: by Erica (new)

Erica | 352 comments Oops I meant "when I changed the puzzle size/shape".
So when I changed it from the classic 20 piece it originally comes up as to for example 51 piece crazy, it would instead show another puzzle from the website. Which was extra weird because I was able to do one of the puzzles on my computer.

Oh. I didn't know anyone was having trouble with the jigsaw puzzles, just the sliders. Interesting.

message 994: by Erica (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 15159 comments You did, Erica, I just didn't know anyone was having trouble with the jigsaw puzzles. I only thought it was with the higher number sliders.

message 999: by Captain Cupcake (new)

Captain Cupcake | 628 comments
My apologies. For Across 53 the correct answer is "snoopy" - when it should have been "sneaky." There is no way to correct the puzzle without changing the whole layout of the crossword, so just put that in.
