Dysfunctional Can you imagine, waking up in a room surrounded by huge concrete walls, and no knowledge of who you are, except your name? James Dashner creates ‘The Maze Runner’, a futuristic scenario, in which a boy named Thomas wakes up in a metal box with a room full of strangers all staring at him, and no memory of his previous life. He doesn’t know why he’s there, or where he even is for that matter.

Dashner keeps you guessing with every turn of the page, whether it’s fighting mechanical monsters, or solving puzzles to find a way out of the maze. The Maze Runner is a book full of twists and turns. This dystopian novel makes us question what our future could actually be like if the science of it fell into the wrong hands.

I think that the story is questioning how far you would actually go, if you were stuck in a similar situation, having to work with people that you’ve never met before, to accomplish something in a predicament that you never thought possible. The Maze Runner is a good book, and I would recommend it to anyone who likes adventure, mystery and futuristic novels.
