I read it because I realized that I forgot my audio CDs of Lord's Fall (my free space book) at work:(
I'll be back to work on Tuesday and finish it out. Unless I read something else today like Never Love a Highlander (McCabe Trilogy, #3) by Maya Banks which I think would work (right?)

I couldn't find it in one of the free space options, but if you did just let me know where and it would work. otherwise no worries on rushing to finish your free space book. I don't think our free space lines up with any of the shelves called, unlike team 10 who will have 4 in a row when they finish the called shelves and free space.

Book:
Lord's Fall (Elder Races, #5) by Thea Harrison by Thea Harrison
Finished: June 18
Review & Rating: 3-stars. I didn't enjoy this book as much as Tiago & the Djinn Khalil's book. I don't know why because I did like Pia & Dragos book. But this one didn't engage me. I am glad Pia & Dragos finally got married and little peanut has a stronger family unit. I am also glad Rune & Dragos talked. That was a relationship I missed. I wonder if Gray will leave Dragos when he gets his HEA with that harpie!

I was thinking the same thing Karen! Teams 7 and 4 will have 3 in a row.

But us and team 6 are the only ones who have stamps on all of our called shelves except Strong Heroines. We really are rolling right along.

Moon Spell (The Tale of Lunarmorte, #1) by Samantha Young by Samantha Young
Rating: 4 Stars
Finished: 6/18/13

I am a huge fan of Samantha Young’s most recent work (On Dublin Street, Down London Road) and have been meaning to read her earlier work since they have been sitting on my Kindle for so long, but I never could get around to it. Thankfully Moon Spell worked for a group challenge I’m in and I jumped at the chance to finally delve into this world. Although the writing was a little rocky and the story a bit confusing here and there, I really loved this book. The characters were interesting and the mythology was fascinating and well developed.

I really enjoyed Caia and her growth throughout the book. The end Caia was nothing like the beginning Caia and I appreciated that immensely. She learned, she fought, she messed up and through it all she became a better, stronger Lykan. And speaking of Lykans…I definitely loved Lucien, even though a lot of the time I wanted to smack him around. What is it about dudes that keep them from speaking up? Lucien held a lot back from Caia, some of it made sense, but most of it made me want to scream. In fact, there was one point I actually yelled at my Kindle for him to just freaking tell her how he felt. And then I wanted to bang my head against my desk. I loved every minute of it.

I wasn’t too keen on the bad guys POVs since I didn’t always feel like they moved the story along, although sometimes I enjoyed them because I was devastated when I first realized who his mole was and then thankful when I realized the secret behind the mole. As soon as I was done with Moon Spell, I started reading River Cast. I’m excited to continue on with this series and then move on to more Samantha Young. My goal is to have her entire catalog read before Before Jamaica Lane comes out next year. I doubt that it’ll be difficult for me to do since I tend to devour Samantha’s books.

Touched by an Alien (Katherine "Kitty" Katt, #1) by Gini Koch

Date Finished: 6/21/13
Rating: 4 Stars

3.5 really but I'm rounding up because of the fun factor. Luckily this book is firmly in the popcorn movie, turn your brain off entertainment camp because the whole thing falls apart if you think about it too deeply. Imagine if the old awesome Will Smith from Men in Black, Independence Day or Enemy of the State were a 20-something woman and you'd have this book. Kitty is a marketing manager on her way out of jury duty when her world explodes. She's quickly drawn into otherworldly intrigues, evil superbeings and hot alien men. She not only handles it with aplomb, she ends up being in charge of pretty much everything. She can blind reload a gun she's handled once! While hanging upside down! From a "hovering" jet! Can jets even hover? I don't know and honestly, after I asked myself that question I just when "eh, who cares", smiled and kept reading. That pretty much sums up this book.

And every time my critical side pointed out these ridiculous scenarios someone would say something funny or something so over the top would happen and I would be reminded to just go with it and have fun. It's actually hard to write a review because the more I think about it, the more falls apart but also, kinda, the more I don't care. If you're a reader who can't help but pick apart unlikely or impossible scenarios I'll say this book probably isn't for you. But if you can just go with it, expect some summer brain candy and have fun with it, it's totally worth it. The characters are extremely likeable, Kitty has a fun relationship with her parents, there's lots of snark, lots of explosions and creative ways to kill big, gross monsters. I can see more of this series on my summer reading list.

But I do have to say I loved Last Sacrifice (Vampire Academy, #6) by Richelle Mead and Down London Road (On Dublin Street, #2) by Samantha Young so either would be a great pick. and I've heard Dare You To (Pushing the Limits, #2) by Katie McGarry is great and I really need to get my butt in gear and read it.

I didn't like this book at all. I kept getting confused, it kept going back forth from the past to the present. And it was hard for me to fallow. I might try and to read it again later on. I do like Kiersten White other series a lot better.

but i enjoy discussing books with him. we chatted about The Razorland series extensively. I also got him to read the Hunger Games. I was hoping with Divergent coming out this fall, we could read it and see the movie. but the lovey-dovey parts are annoying him :)
