Lol Lisa. I only started them a couple of months ago. The boys annoy me but I love kitty and her family.

I only read this book a few months ago as well, Lisa. It's a fun world, but like you, Belinda, I was a bit annoyed by the guys. I really have to pick up #2 soon though...
Well, I love them all. LOL. I'm addicted to the silliness and the fun and the action and the cool gadgets :DD

This book was okay. The story was interesting, but I felt that the delivery of the story was a bit boring. Also, I wasn't really surprised by any of the happenings. This was definitely a lengthy story, but when I actually sat down to read it, the pages just went by.

Damn you woman! I was attempting to figure out how to link on my phone so I could get in before you!! :P

This is the first Jennifer Armentrout book I've read and it won't be the last. I really enjoyed her writing style.
I'm not a fan of YA books generally but there was something about this one that kept me reading. I've seen elsewhere where peeps have seen a resemblance to Twilight but for me there wasn't any angst in this one and no sparkly vamps.
Katy, who just moved to West Virginia from Florida with her mom, is quite capable of holding her own and does so on a few notable occasions ie dumping spaghetti all over Ash & Daemons' head in the middle of the school cafeteria.
So the mysterious people aren't vampires but Aliens of Light, known as Luxans. Their enemies are the Arum, Aliens of Darkness. And Katy ends up finding out about the aliens, and none of them are happy about it.
I will definitely be reading the rest of the series.
Hi Team 13. I just picked this one up from the Library. Glad it is on our shelf. Looks like a Ghost Story. I'll be reading it for Cover Love..

Oh Ellen Hopkins, the things you can do with your words...
I am glad that I read the companion book Triangles before I read this one. This one goes out a bit further than that one. It was so nice to see where things kept going for the ladies even though it was through the eyes of the teens.
I was able to connect with the characters. I felt the emotions. I didn't really want it to ever end.
I'll update everyone's reviews later today but so far I've not had the reading time I'd like to this week :( I'm about 1/2 - 2/3 thru game board of the gods - I'm enjoying it so far, but it's pretty dense with character and world building and I won't finish it this week. Sorry guys - I'm thinking I should have it done mon/tues next week. And thanks steph for the stamp! :)

Book: Hereafter

Hereafter was a ghost story.
Amelia is a ghost. She’s been in a semi - cognoscente existence until she witnesses Joshua’s near death in the same river that took her life. Joshua is able to see and touch Amelia and they quickly (a bit rushed) develop a relationship that seems destined to fail. Joshua helps Amelia unwind the story of her life and death. We find that Joshua and his family are seers and his grandmother is trying to exercise the ghosts – including Amelia. They also discover that Amelia is more than your average spook. She has been chosen to partner with Eli. He is another ghost and he's recruiting souls for team evil.
This book was OK. I am just interested enough to read the next one. I feel like it leaned more towards the young in YA. It was definitely a first in series. I think that it ended just as the story started to take off.
I have to say that Eli – although he’s bad – was a bright spot. He was a 70’s rocker that is spending eternity in tight pants, long hair, exposed chest and lots of man jewelry. That’s sort of funny.
Side note: Amelia says Joshua's name so often that it reminded me of that Friends episode where Rachel continually says "Josh uwah" . I kept saying that way in my head. So annoying.
Belinda, I totally forgot Gameboard of the Gods was out. I just loved the Succubus series (one of the best endings of a series I think). I also like the black swan or whatever that other series was.. I can't wait to hear what you think. I really like her world building.

Review:
Another fun filled instalment. This time Kitty and her aliens have to battle a group of alien-hating humans, get rid of a crazy stalker and find out what a disembodied space entity is doing on earth. We also get to meet the rest of Jeff's family, and Kitty finds herself another adversary in her future mother-in-law.
All up this was another light and fun read, but I still have the same issues with this book that I had with the last. Kitty is just that little bit too good; she works out everything while the apparently brilliant AC's stand around and scratch their heads. The other problem I have are the guys: I mean is every male in those books jealous, needy, clingy, obsessed and in love with Kitty? This time there is Brian, her ex from high-school who wants to marry her, we finally get to meet conspiracy Chuck who unbeknownst to Kitty has been in love with her since 9th grade, Michael and a space entity...and all of them are enamoured with our feisty heroine. I really wish, she'd stop collecting her own personal harem.
Apart from that I enjoyed this adventure filled instalment and all its over-the-top characters...and alligators.
updated! will request stamp as soon as i finish my book (sorry for being slow this week!) and am ready for the next shelf! shelf! shelf!

Thanks for posting Sandra! Seems the shelf release coincides with my favourite gym class on a Sunday :)Once in finished
 I'll start

for angels and demons - thank god for the one person that shelved it like that! ^.^

I'll be starting mine tomorrow, 1 July ;)No worries, I just check before, during or after brekkie, whenever I remember. LOL.
      I'll be reading

I was going to read if for cover love shelf but it was a bit longer then the other one. I'll have more time this week.
Stephanie, I hope you find your book. That is one of my favorite series.. or I should say that Georgina is one of my favorite characters. Enjoy
      I'll be reading

this week.Sandra, I'm looking forward to your review. I've read #1 in that series and quite enjoyed it.
Yes, both #1 & #2 were good. Steph has read #3 and said it was equally good. So the series is holding up and that is a good thing ;)))))

That's great to hear! I might read Summoning the Night this week, if I don't enjoy my original choice. I'm a bit worried, as I didn't like the last book I read by Caitlin Kittredge, but as I've heard good things about the 'Black London' series and it was a gifted book, I thought I give her another chance.

The only thing I've read of hers was Black London #1.5 in the anthology

and I really, really hated it. Swore never to read anything by her again, hated it!!!So good luck with it Kerstin. ROFLMAO.
*groans* that doesn't sound promising at all :(I read
a couple of years ago and never went on with that series...I pretty much hated all the characters in it. Oh well, I'll try the first few chapters and see how I go.
You never know, it could be because it was the anthology story that I hated it & her!So I'll be interested to see what happens :DDD
      week 4: cover love -

finished: 1/7/13

Review:
i was dubious about this one. alot of people have read it and hated it. i needed to keep an open mind going in. that being said - i can see why people haven't liked it - the world and character building is so heavy in this book, right til the end. it's hard slog to get through but the storyline was enough to keep me interested and the characters developed nicely as well. i did have some difficultly with the terms but Richelle Meade has a nice glossary on her webiste (why it wasn't included in the book - i don't know!). i'll keep going to see what happens with this series and see if the writing improves.

This book was fun and campy. It was not my typical fare but I really enjoyed it. It was cheesy and a big "tribute" to the Men in Black movie but in the best way. My strong heroine has a smart mouth, quick intelect and kicks ass. She handles the news that there are others sharing our planet with unbelievable ease and finds her true calling with a pack of super hot aliens here to save our planet. Certainly one of those guilty pleasure type books.
PS: I'm leaving this a bit light on the review because I feel like the last "human" on earth to read this book.
