Woohoo team! :)My Kobo seems to have completely died on me, so that's made reading my aliens book interesting. Luckily my phone isn't too hard to read off of, so I started it this evening, but I'm still irked about my Kobo!
Shelf! This week is paranormal mix. There are two shelves that we can pick off of, because the original was way smaller than it shows up as!
Paranormal mix
Paranormals
I'm torn...I could read either
or
this week, but I'm not sure I'm ready for either series to end! Shadowfever would help me with a few challenges though, so maybe it's time to bite the bullet and read it.
Ohhh, I hope you like it Jennifer! So far Infernal Devices is in my top 3 YA series for sure (as long as Clockwork Princess is as good as the other two!)
Huh. I'm starting
today and I was hoping it would fit the shelf. Apparently, it can be shelved under all combos of paranormal except for the two I want :(I might be going with
but I'm still not sure.

Review:
As a lover of all things Zombies, I was extremely excited to read this much raved about YA featuring them. It DOES have zombies but TINAT is less about the ZombPacalypse and more about human interaction as six teenagers are huddled inside of a high school while the world is falling apart right outside the school's doors.
The protagonist, Sloan was pretty heartbreaking as she not only dealt with a zombie-ridden world but the struggle of merely existing when she was salivating to off herself way before the world went to shit. The supporting characters were intriguing as well (although I became annoyed with the twins after awhile). I was very sad to see this story end and while I was happy to see it was a stand alone when I started (reading a YA that isn't apart of a series these days is like finding a freaking unicorn) I am BEGGING for a sequel now. Very good.
CONGRATULATIONS, Psychedelic Oysters! You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'free space'.

Beat of Temptation~Tamsyn & Nathan's HEA, 3 ★'s
I liked this one but I didn't love it. I was always curious about Tammy & Nate's story as their romance was already established in the 1st book of the Psy-Changeling series. I felt bad for Tammy in BoT and wanted to throttle Nate for being incredibly freaking obtuse but I'm glad I read BoT.
Stroke of Enticement~Zach & Annie's HEA, 4 ★'s
This was my favorite short of the bunch. I thought the way Zach & Annie met was so cute. Zach went a long way to nullifying Annie's insecurities, although he himself seemed damned near perfect. I also liked the Kaleb cameo, which went a long way to showing the kind of man Kaleb would eventually become. Although this is the first time I recall meeting the h/h of this story (although I could be wrong; there's SO many players in Singh's Psy-Changeling series) I'm happy to hear that (view spoiler)
Declaration of Courtship~Grace & Cooper's HEA, 3.5 ★'s
This is the first time I've read about a main female protagonist being a "true" submissive in PC. While I liked DoC well enough, I like the kickass dominant women much more. Cooper was sexy as sin but I don't think Singh did a good job of showing the reader why he's "mad, bad & dangerous to know."
Texture of Intimacy~(view spoiler), 2.5 ★'s (put in spoiler tags for those who haven't read Kiss of Snow yet)
ToI was my least favorite of the bunch. Why? Because I was never really interested in the protagonists HEA. Their whole relationship has always bored me. I can think of 10 people off the top of my head I'd rather read about. So yeah, 2 stars. I'd rather have read a cute little short featuring a past HEA.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Aliens:
- Stansilaw LemFinished: June 24th, 2013
Rating: 2.5/5 stars
This book was kind of all over the place. I liked the basic idea of the story, but it felt like there were two completely separate novels: one which was a horror/love story (which was interesting and enjoyable) annnnd one that was a dry scientific manual about the planet itself. But rather than it being separate chapters (which might have worked) the two ideas kind of shifted at strange times, making it a disjointed read. Overall it wasn't horrible, but it didn't really hold my interest the way I'd hoped.

WOW, Aliens!!! Who would've thought I was missing out by not reading any alien books? Yet another great book by Jennifer. Will be reading the rest of this series soon.
I loved the intense parts and the love between the characters.
This is a GREAT!! book to read...loved it all the way through

This book took awhile to get into but after it got going it held my attention. By the end I wanted more! About half way through it became compelling! Yes, same old storyline - good versus evil, demons etc pitted against humans - but it is both the character evolvement and interactions that made this book enticing. Characters with hidden secrets, twists and turns. This is book one of a trilogy and if I had not already planned my next read I would be grabbing book 2 now for sure....can't wait for this story to continue.
Pretty easy shelf to choose from this week since most of my PNR/UF/YA books are on that shelf. I'm going with
. HAPPY READING, LADIES!
Oooh that one gives us 4 in a row too! (Once I finish my damn assassins book, which will hopefully happen this week!) I'm going to read
.
Oh, the paranormal mix was of some use. I'll read both paranormal mix & supernatural by Friday. I haven't shortlisted my books yet
I hope you enjoy your books, ladies!@ Sam: YAY for us having 4-in-a-row now! But now this means I'm going to have to stop procrastinating about the "Aliens" shelf and pick a book to read-and actually read it.

Great book for any age that likes vampires! It's not the next great novel but it's an easy read and the series flows from one to another. Must read

Haha yeah that aliens one was definitely my most dreaded shelf. Luckily my book wasn't too awful, but I had *nothing* on my shelves that actually fit/wasn't 1000 pages. I hope you manage to find something good! :)
Shelf: SupernaturalBecause I'm feeling very very lazy, I'm giving a super-lame review

Review:
I'm doing a NR Read-a-thon in another group and this was the first book I read. This was ok - a slight deviation from typical NR. It dealt with Satanism (hence the tag supernatural, I suppose) and the usual suspense. It was little gorier than her usual ones and the ending was more open-ended. I liked those parts but the book didn't really captivate me. It was just ok.
I have
but I don't know when I can get around to it. It doesn't fit the paranormal mix shelf and it doesn't fit the ghosts & Spirits shelf (if called). Should I start it now? Gah!And for the ghosts and spirits shelf, I already found 3 that I have and can read:
I dont want to start a new series now and I'm not sure why I keep postponing the MT book. And I think there's supposed to be only 9 pages so *if* the shelf is called, then there will be another additional shelf thrown in too.

I'm going to make this quick and dirty as I am extremely tired (working double shifts for almost 2 weeks straight will do that to a person) and I have to be off to work in a few hours. In SW, the heroine, Janet Begay (is it juvenile that I always laugh to myself when I see her last time) has a problem: her boyfriend Mick, the deliciously badass dragon shifter is POSSESSED. Shit goes down. People die. Gabrielle makes an appearance. The asshole sheriff whatshisname lets his douche flag fly. Butt is kicked. Mirrors talk. Grandmother makes fry bread. Sexytimes commence. The day is saved. The end.
This has been a horrrrrible reading week for me. I'm still trying to finish my assassins book, and I have about 250 pages left of my paranormal mix book. I also haven't gotten around to starting my supernatural book, which sucks because it's due back at the library tomorrow but I'm debating just taking the late fee for it...haha.
New shelf! It is Tortured Herohttp://www.goodreads.com/shelf/show/t...
It's a winning shelf for Team 14~Moonlight Furies, of which my friend D.G. is member. They still have to finish their Alien & Supernatural shelves so this may not be the end yet. If it is, YAY TEAM 14 & thanks for being funny, wonderful teammates, Psychedelic Oysters. ☺
Assassins:
- Brandon SandersonFinished: August 3rd, 2013
Rating: 4/5 stars
Despite how long it took me to finish this book, I really enjoyed it! Definitely an original concept, and there were tons of really well done twists. I loved that I never knew what to expect next, and that even when I thought I knew where the story was going, the author managed to rip the carpet out from under me. Definitely recommend this one!
Paranormal mix:
- Karen Marie MoningFinished: August 7th, 2013

I liked this one a lot, but not as much as the other novels in the series. There was a lot of kind of weird jumping around about who Mac is, and at certain points the sexual tension (and the sex) was kind of annoying and took me out of the story a bit. That said, it was still a great end(ish) to Mac's story, and there were lots of things I definitely didn't see coming, which I loved.
I have to pick a new supernatural book, because I had to return
to the library. Once I'm done with that one, I'll pick something for tortured hero (assuming the game doesn't end first!)
