Adrian Howell (adrianhowell) | 7 comments Recently I asked the librarians here to make alternative cover editions for my books. They did, and I set my newer versions to the default as per the guidelines. Everything went fine except for one concern I have:

On my alternative cover editions, the “Get a copy” links do not link to my book on Amazon as they did in the older versions. Instead, they go to Amazon’s search engine where a bunch of books (though none of them mine) with similar key words as my titles are listed. My guess is that this is happening because, unlike my old versions, the alternative cover editions do not have the ASINs listed in their data.

Is it okay for me to add the ASINs into these alternative cover editions? And if not, is there any other way to rectify this?

Can't be done. Only one book/edition on Goodreads can have a specific ASIN.

Adrian Howell (adrianhowell) | 7 comments That is disappointing, but thank you for your response.

I have an ad running on Goodreads now, but I guess it’ll have to stay directly linked to Amazon rather than to my GR page.
