Koenraad (koenraadkelemen) | 6993 comments #358 Since they are all variants of the author's real name, and there is no reason to believe the author is deliberately keeping the different names as separate identities, there's no reason to keep them apart. Jürgen G. Backhaus seems to be the most frequently used, so I merged everything under that name.

There is no way to delete an author. Merged Tussy/Gustafson into Alan S. Tussy, as some of the books appeared to be missing his name.

The above profile is a doubling of the last name of Allen Kent (profile http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/...).

Allen Kent is already listed as an author for the 13 books, but I guess a merge should be done anyway?

In spot checking #393, some with:

(no period initial)

appear to have had the initials removed? So the authors are in Goodreads without their initials?

Usually (but not always, depending what librarian finds), the first profile listed is the correct one and the following ones should be merged into the first.

(no period initial) means that a period is missing and all initials should have a period (dot) after them according to the Librarian's Manual.

Also, some profiles still have an initial without a period after them?

Would you please check through #393 for the above?

Misfit | 102 comments Not 100% sure if this is a combine author, or a mistake on the GR book page. See book Inherit the Sun. I have this edition with the exact same ISBN # and as you can see on the cover it says the author is Maxwell Grant, yet the GR book page (same ISBN #) says the author is Walter B. Gibson.

Hopefully one of the super librarians can sort it out? Pretty please?
