Gigi | 833 comments Hi!! I hope everyone had a great month. I've actually finished 3 books. I've enjoyed all 3, however 1 was a 4.5 star read for me. I tend to rate my books along the GR guidelines so, 3 stars for me means I liked it.

4.5 star read: The Historical Romance Collection by Sylvia Day (The Stranger I Married (couldn't get the link to work- weird!)) by Sylvia Day

3 stars:
Lover Reborn (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #10) by J.R. Ward by JR Ward
Styx's Storm (Breeds, #22) by Lora Leigh by Lora Leigh

Anyway, what were your May reads like?

Glad you liked it, I've been eyeing that one for a while, I'll move it up my tbr!

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments In May I only had one 5 star book: The Mark of Athena (The Heroes of Olympus, #3) by Rick Riordan and one 4 star:
Kiss of Steel (London Steampunk, #1) by Bec McMaster . The rest were 3 star reads and not really worth mentioning.

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Not quite done, but my audiobook listen was Ransom by Julie Garwood narrated by Susan Duerden.

I'm also listening to Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan - very well narrated, too, by Ari Fliakos, but this one I should rate high.

As always, Rosalyn Landor did a wonderful job narrating Prince Charming by Julie Garwood ★★★★½

Open Season by Linda Howard was ★★★★½ Narrated by Deborah Hazlett was fun!

Rosalyn Landor is an awesome narrator. My favorite is Jim Frangione.

It is a very good mystery, ShoSho. Do you like tech stuff? It has it, but it is a little different than you expect; not too sophisticated, in that regard. Fun. Definitely read the DQs in the NBRC thread for some answers/guesses as you read along. But don't read ahead! LOL!

Omg!! 21 books! You read Duncan's Bride! That is a fav of mine. Isn't the book awesome and very underrated? I love Reese and Maddie.

message 14: by Gea (new)

Gea (gea89) | 412 comments This was actually a very slow month for me, since I had lots of school work to do :D

I loved Duncan's Bride so much, I don't know why I waited so long to read it... I liked it so much I read Loving Evangeline almost immediately after Duncan's Bride and I liked it as well (not as much as Duncan's Bride though).

A very good idea :)

message 21: by KarenF (new)

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 458 comments I had a really weird month, I got sick with a neverending cold and I think that sucked the enjoyment out of some of my reading. Especially when all I could do was stare at a page with weepy eyes! I wasn't on GR much at all either.

Anyway, I only ended up with 2 5 stars. Captain's Fury (Codex Alera, #4) by Jim Butcher Lord of Darkness (Maiden Lane, #5) by Elizabeth Hoyt and both of them are pretty much autobuy authors for me. I didn't really dislike anything else, just nothing else really rocked my world.

I'm looking forward to June though. I'm totally psyched for Heart of Obsidian (Psy-Changeling, #12) by Nalini Singh & Any Duchess Will Do (Spindle Cove, #4) by Tessa Dare

message 22: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments That does suck, Karen!

Glad you liked Butcher and Hoyt, though. Love them, too.

KarenF (cleocleveland) | 458 comments Ugh, it's still going around my office!

I'm really looking forward to the next Maiden Lane book (series spoiler) (view spoiler) it's sure to be an angst-fest!

I have to add Wicked as They Come (Blud, #1) by Delilah S. Dawson I gave it 4.5 stars. Loved the hero and the world building. This book is truly steampunk unlike Kiss of Steel (London Steampunk, #1) by Bec McMaster , which was more paranormal romance.

Nichole, you did!!! I really liked The Stranger I Married. So weird, usually its the other way around....the male character needing to be convinced to have a traditional marriage. I really liked the change.

I see, you've read Naked in Death. Hmmmm....I'm overdue for a Roarke- fix!

I still have to read Loving Evangeline. I'm usually very critical of the heroine's, but I loved Maddies spunk!! Such an awesome story.
