I'm finishing A Thousand Autumns of Jacob De Zoetby David Mitchell. Awesome writer, this is the fifth novel I've read from him. I love them all.

I started reading The Road because Nancy mentioned it and I've started it 4 times previously but never continued with it, I was thinking of ordering Duma key from eBay yesterday I've never managed to find it in a charity shop
Doreen wrote: "Just started reading Stephen King's Duma Key tonight."I just read it for the first time this year. I thought it was some of his best writing! I had to pause to re-read sentences and paragraphs over again because they were so good. I'll definitely be re-reading it.
He also did a good job showing what life is like in Florida - hot. Just very hot, haha. We definitely run for the AC and the occasional alligator is still found in a swimming pool.
Just started Bag of Bones for the third time, as part of my complete King chronological read through. Always thought this one was a tad underrated.
I am currently reading https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... and also https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3..., which is quite far removed from Stephen King. I'm really enjoying both though!

One of King's very best. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure. Especially Wireman, one of King's funniest characters.
McCammon is excellent, Julia
Erin - just started it and have only read the prologue with Fr. Merrin in Iraq. The movie is a fave and I've always heard great things about the novel, so I'd be surprised if it doesn't meet my expectations. If it does, perhaps I'll read "Legion" next.

I'll have to check it out.

Oh Andrea you will love this book.
I'm reading Allegedly Allegedly. Not bad so far, am about half-way through ... it's keeping me interested to see how it develops. No spoilers please.
I recently reread American Gods. Great book. This morning, I finished John Dies at the End.
Now, I'm going to reread The Gunslinger.

I was somewhat amazed that the movie followed it so closely...then again Blatty did adapt the screenplay as well. The novel did go far deeper into Fr. Karras' attempts to convince himself that there was a purely scientific reason behind Regan's behavior, but of course you can only fit so much into a 2-hour movie.
True the book normally carries much more information, but not all. The Green Mile springs to mind of a movie that follows a book nearly to the letter.
