Julie | 8 comments Dracula, because Mr. King recommended it in Danse Macabre

Jessica | 52 comments I just finished reading The Winter People. Has anyone else read it? I absolutely devoured this book and would love to discuss. It was so perfectly creepy!

Hadn't heard of it until now. I just had a look and some of my GR friends have given it mixed ratings... However, I'm always looking for recommendations (who knows why, there's hardly a shortage of books...!) so I'll try to give it a read some time.

Dracula is really good. There's only one thing I'd change about it but it isn't a deal breaker. Enjoy!

Staci Johnson | 102 comments Looking for a copy of Winter People now. Sounds interesting and I would to discuss it with you

Rhian (rhianlovesbooksx1f4d6) | 508 comments Just finished The house on cold hill by Peter James what a load of rubbish, product placement and advertising everywhere and a poor rip off of The Amityville horror, one to avoid

I never thought about it. I think in general she is conflicted since she is in some ways like Zero. She did go there to find him so I could see her hearing his side whether she wants to or not. After all, she never even heard Amy's side.

message 4510: by Scott (new)

Scott | 401 comments I recently read The Dark Half. This was my 50th King book read.

I also read The Hunter.

message 4511: by Rhian (new)

Rhian (rhianlovesbooksx1f4d6) | 508 comments Started The Alibi by Jamie Raven which I won on goodreads, then my other recent win turned up this morning The Follower by Koethi Zan I can't wait to read that one everyone tells me The never list is excellent

message 4512: by Aditya (new)

Aditya Finished Nick's Trip by George Pelecanos. It is essentially like reading a bad Dennis Lehane knockoff (I know Lehane came later) but I hope you get the idea. If you like genre fiction you would be entertained, otherwise give it a pass. Rating - 3/5.

My brief review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Stevo (stevop) | 230 comments I finished Illuminae which, once I got into it, was a good page turner. I've just started Ready Player One which seems immediately great. Not only is it stuffed to the gills with game, TV and film knowledge but Mid-World also gets an honourable mention. YES!

message 4516: by Scott (new)

Scott | 401 comments I started Dark Matter a few days ago. It is really good so far.

Yay! I finished The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Millennium, #1) by Stieg Larsson and loved it. I have now also read The Girl Who Played with Fire (Millennium, #2) by Stieg Larsson and loved it as well.

Everybody was right, just get through the first part and it is a great read.

I absolutely loved the Stieg Larsson series! So glad to hear you're loving it. Of the three books, the second was my least favorite even though I enjoyed the entire series immensely. Have fun reading the third!

message 4520: by Rhian (new)

Rhian (rhianlovesbooksx1f4d6) | 508 comments I was so confused with all the characters in the 3rd book I didn't know who was working for who I think I left too big a gap after the second book, I've bought spiders web but haven't got around to reading it

message 4521: by Jessica (new)

Jessica | 52 comments I bought the fourth book but also haven't read it yet. Picked it up because I loved the original series. But I'm very hesitant about another author trying to pick up on Larsson's story and style. I'm worried it will somehow taint my enjoyment of the originals. Eventually I'll just have to dive in and see for myself. If you end up giving it a try I'd love to hear your impressions!

Rhian (rhianlovesbooksx1f4d6) | 508 comments I keep forgetting I bought it I found it in a charity shop months ago, if I do read it I shall post here and let you know how it goes

Lin (gramatumaja) | 9 comments ALIVE. The story of the Andes survivors.
A beautiful non-fiction telling about people breaking barriers to survive. Understanding dilemma but so hard to accept.

Rhian (rhianlovesbooksx1f4d6) | 508 comments That rings a bell Lin I'm sure it's a film also

message 4528: by Penny (new)

Penny | 3 comments With the movie coming out, I decided to re-read The Dark Tower books. I'm reading The Wastelands now. I read these as they were published, so a long time ago. I'm able to understand more this time around. I was all of 21 when I read it the first time. The time travel aspect and different realities make sense this time.

message 4531: by Steve (new)

Steve T (goodreadssteve) Finished The Gunslinger last night and I'm 44 pages into The Drawing of the Three. The difference between the two books is like when The Wizard of Oz switches from black-and-white to color.

message 4535: by Nancy (new)
