I haven't had much time to read it yet, but it's setting up an interesting scenario: an international corporation has gone on a world-wide search for a man of god to send to a habited planet galaxies away from Earth. Why? I'm sure I'll find out after page 44! ;D

I just started ROSE MADDER, Stephen King, a few days ago, and I am enjoying the heck out of that book !Love the character of Rose and her husband Norman is one sick dude ! And, he's a "biter", like Francis Dolarhyde in DRAGON.

I definitely will!
Jessica wrote: "A Study in Scarlet"My first novel of Sherlock Holmes! I read all the main stories and the other adventures. I hope you like it! It's frustrating, after the explanation of his deductions, like facts seem so simple.
I'm reading Throne of the Crescent Moon, for a group here. A book I didn't know, but beautiful and full of charm.
The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror by Christopher Moore. He is just so fun to read.
I'm starting out the year with Mister Slaughter
, I really enjoy his writing, does a great job depicting 1700's New York in his historical novels.

Me too! This one reminded me of "The Gifts of the Magi" gone horribly wrong. It was pretty clever.

My favorite is A Dirty Job and I really enjoyed Sacré Bleu: A Comedy d'Art more recently
The Four Fingers of Death by Rick Moody along with the other four books in my currently reading shelf....
I'm reading Shirley Jackson's short stories and just started A Monster Calls which is blowing me away only 23 pages in. Wow!
Kandice wrote: "The Colour of Magic looks really good."After ten years, I remember it has been a good reading. The difficult thing with Discworld series, is follow the right timeline between books.
Just finished Red Dragon. I've had a copy of this for almost 30 years so I thought it was about time. Just started Ordinary Grace. It's completely the other end of the spectrum from Dragon, and so far so good.
It's got a feel of Boy's Life meets Revival meets A Prayer for Owen Meany.
Wow. Just finished Ordinary Grace. Awesome read. Such a rich story. Beautifully written. Characters, all of them broken in some way, were vivid and deep.
Just started Silent Prey, book 4 in a series with Lucas Davenport by John Sandford.
About halfway through Pet Sematary, really enjoying it so far, just wished I had more time to read it.
Michael wrote: "Currently reading Let the Right One In, Hope it's as good as I've heard."It is! Enjoy it :)

It's a great book! Have you read his others? Like father, like son
I started Infinite Jest, but I don't think it's for me. Im only about a hundred pages in, but I think I'm going to give it up.
Thanks for the encouragement TheLongWait! I told myself at the outset I would read at least 200 pages before quitting. So maybe I'll stick with that goal. A lot of people would agree with you that its amazing!
My favorite book of all time! Begs to be re-read! I tool notes on what happend, that may help. Plus there are a couple of spoiler free reading guides on the web. For me, though, the book restored my faith in what a novel can do.
So yeah i made it last year to my goal woohoo now going hope i can do it again this year.Right now I am reading Rose Madder by Stephen King read it for a BOTM on Stephen King Fans group on goodreads. I read this before and i liked it but its been a long time since i read it and I forgot about how goood it is. So far i am 250 pages in it. Started to read it on the first.
After I get done on that book I will be reading these
A Maiden's Grave & The Skin Collector by Jeffery Deaver
Missing Justice by Alafair Burke
Night Sins by Tami Hoag
Shadow Prey by John Sandford
Just finished the The Dark Toweron audio book. It was great to listen to, but also sorry to see the series end! Finishing up Dreamcatcher probably today and then I will begin Rose Madder.
Saw mixed reviews on Dreamcatcher, but I am enjoying most of it so far. Depending on the last 100 pages or so, but I am leaning to a 4 star rating.

I finished this series a couple of months ago. A rereading of some books could be useful for understand all. Have you find something you have missed the first time?

I really loved Let the Right One In... a great vampire book... in fact it inspired one of the major characters in my Bloody Bess. BTW, I'm also a big fan of Christopher Moore especially his The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove. Just finished Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates, no ambivalence on this one... 5 stars, a review should be up this evening. So now it may be full time reading Rose Madder.
