Over halfway done with Insurgent by Veronica Roth! I have trouble putting it down!! It's really good!!
Nos4a2. I'm really impressed. The characters are great, the story is well paced, even funny at times. About 2/3 through it. I'm hoping the ending is satisfying. Already looking forward to another Joe Hill book

Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger. Not a lot seems to be happening, but I really love the style.
Kandice wrote: "Her Fearful Symmetry by Audrey Niffenegger. Not a lot seems to be happening, but I really love the style."This was a very odd book, I enjoyed it

I looked at some ratings and they were all over the map. I decided not to read any and at least attempt to go in with a clear mind, but I'm glad someone can say they enjoyed it!
I Finished Eclipse Corona, last book of "A Song Called Youth" series. Now I'm reading Wolves of the Calla, fifth book of "The Dark Tower" series.

Autumn: Disintegration (Autumn #4) by David Moody, one of my favourite authors. Loved the first three in the series, but the first I read this one i didn't like it... So I'm giving it another chance! :)
Just finished Horns. The story was great, lots of jumping back and forth to the past which wasn't distracting but it made me wonder how the movie would reflect that. I wish more of "why" and "how" had been explored, or at least expanded on (the figurines, treehouse, etc) and the ending, well....was ok. It certainly didn't put me off of Joe Hill, just started Heart Shaped Box and looking forward to it.
Recently finished “The Waste Lands”, started “Wizard and Glass” yesterday. Going to finish the series before starting anything else, but who knows…
Reading Helter Skelter: The True Story of the Manson Murders, Nightmares & Dreamscapes, and Dracula.

50 pages to go in Underworld, 2/3 done with The Pale King, 400 pages to go in IT, 1/2 way done with Stone Junction, and just making a dent in Bloody Bess and the Doomsday Games.
TheLongWait wrote: "50 pages to go in Underworld, 2/3 done with The Pale King, 400 pages to go in IT, 1/2 way done with Stone Junction, and just making a dent in Bloody Bess and the Doomsday Games."I just recently finished IT.
Almost done with Blood of Olympus, halfway through The Red Pyramid, and about 30 pages into When We Were Romans.
I have taken a two week break from IT, simply because I got really wrapped up in Underworld. I am enjoying IT, but Underworld is simply stunning. DeLillo's best.
Me too. The Length didn't bother me it just seemed after a certain point that it wasn't going to end but keep going and going. Like I wasn't making any forward progress.
20th Century Ghosts. I saw the audio at the library the other day and felt I had to snatch it up. The reader is terrific.
In the middle of Heart Shaped Box. I like it, it was spooky at first. It has the feeling of a Koontz book.
Heart Shaped Box is, in my opinion, much better than most of Koontz new stuff, though I'm a fan of both authors.
Yes I agree it's better, much better in fact. It's just a "feel" of Koontz. Mystery starts then it goes " on the road". Remnants of childhood traumas surfacing as they go. Maybe it's the dogs....=}
Wow. I feel like a lazy reader with some of you guys reading 3 or 4 books at a time. I can barely read 2 books at a time so I usually stick to 1 book. Right now I am reading Lord of Chaos by Robert Jordan. The sixth book in The Wheel of Time series. I love these books but I'm having a hard time getting through this one.
I admire you people for reading few books at a time. I always read just one. Helps me focuse 100%.Heart-shaped box is a great book ! I wanted to re-read it strait after finishing it ;).
I'm trying to read The Eyes of the Dragon, but it goes soooooo slow. I read like five pages and then find some excuse to do something else...

I only read more than one book at a time because I am always reading one ebook, one paper book, and audio-ing one book in my car whenever I drive. I can keep track of the different narrative threads because they are such different formats.
I don't read two of the same kind at once. :D
Much like Kandice, I don't read the same style at once. I also reading one ebook and 4 paperbacks currently. I have three kids and a full time job, so having variety makes it fun for me when I can read. Usually, I get into a zone with one. Like this week, I have read about 350 pages in Underworld and only 20 pages in Stone Junction. I DO feel like I am able to devote myself fully as to whatever I am reading at the moment. And it helps, as with Infinite Jest, to take notes if necessary.

I think that's my personal limit and for some reason I retain a lot more this way.
This is just a recent trend for me. Probably in the last year have I read multiple books simultaneously.
I can rip through a good story in a few days when I just can't put it down. I also do audiobooks when I'm driving or at the park with the dogs. Others (like Dostoyevsky) may take several days to get through a few pages. They do have to be different types of books or they can bleed together - like no two Koontz books at once or I'm confused for sure.

I've read several at a time since I was in middle or high school. I also take notes on occasion especially if its part of a series in case I don't have time to re-read before the next book comes out.
For my next groupn I will b reading V by Pynchon, Zombie Spaceship Wasteland by Patton Oswalt, Hey Rube by Dr. Thompson, and maybe something by one of the Beats.
I am finishing The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan and also For Whom the Bells Toll. While trying to decide which of the Stephen King books, that I recently bought, that I should read first.
