Absolute cracker of a book. Straub firing on all 8 cylinders here and tho a couple more of his efforts are capable of matching it toe-to-toe... they struggle to better it.

If you're finding it half as enjoyable as I did... then you'll be having a mighty fine time with it. Stunning read... for my money at least.

I'm about 100ish pages in and enjoying so far. This is only my third Peter Straub read (not including the two he did with King!) The other two being Mr. X and Floating Dragon. I enjoyed both of those as well! I have the blue rose trilogy on my shelf so I need to get to those someday too!

Floating Dragon a fine book indeed. Mr X is bothering me somewhat because I have the book in the house and am almost sure I've read it but remember absolutely nothing of it. Not even if I liked it or not!! Tis a fact that I have a really poor memory but even when I've forgotten most or even all of a book or film.. I at least remember how good I thought they were. Quite odd.
Blue Rose books def worth a go. The final one The Throat is as good a thriller as any other around... better even.

Check out Ghost Story by Straub, I think it is his best book.

Yes! I have that one on my shelf too and I've been meaning to get to it! I might just have to binge a whole bunch of Peter Straub books or something. So many books, so little time!
