It’s good so far (half-way). It’s not on the edge of your seat reading but it holds my attention and it’s a fast read for a brick of a book.
Brian wrote: "Started The Fireman by Joe Hill"Mary Poppins in sci-fi peril! I really love Hill's writing.

I'll never look at Mary Poppins or The Fireman the same again....

Good to know, I want to read it at some point.

Thanks, Kandice, for the recommendation! I definitely plan to watch the movie afterward. I am kind of embarrassed to say I have never watched the movie.

Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors...Brad Pitt not so much....
Derrick wrote: "Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors....."Did you see him play Aaron Stampler in Primal Fear? The book was terrific, but then I saw the movie, and because of Norton, it blew the book out of the water! Richard Gere and Laura Linney were also superb, but Norton was just amazeballs!
Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors, too. And yes, Norton was great in Primal Fear! I haven't seen it in years....I just might have to watch it soon!
Kathryn wrote: "Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors, too. And yes, Norton was great in Primal Fear! I haven't seen it in years....I just might have to watch it soon!"The book is well worth the read if you can get your hands on it. Knowing the...twist, doesn't make it any less compelling.

I have seen Primal Fear and I loved it! Don't much care for Richard Gere though. I blame my mom. She watched way too much Pretty Woman when I was growing up. Have you seen The Score or American History X? Also, I did not know Primal Fear was a book!
Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors, as well, I try to watch all of his movies (if I can). The last movie I saw of his was Motherless Brooklyn. I think he should have won the Oscar for American History X, it's such a great movie and he was brilliant in it. All the movies, already mentioned, are worth checking out. I also really liked him in the dark comedy Death to Smoochy.

I have. And also agree with Erin that he deserved an Oscar for Motherless Brooklyn!
Starting one tonight called Double Cross: The Explosive, Inside Story of the Mobster Who Controlled America by Sam Giancana and Chuck Giancana
The Theif of Always is great!! - one of my all time favs (I just may read read it this year). I'm looking forward to reading Coraline soon (I picked up a copy late last year new for next to nothing - so pleased).

And American History X.
https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...Just finished BAAL by Robert McCammon, check out my review of that!
On the look out for a new read now! :)
I'm just about to start King's magnum opus, "Dark Tower: The Gunslinger" (I think one of the things that's been holding me back all these years are the "academic" and mythical attitudes towards this tale... I often ask myself the question:" Am I ready for this adventure?")
Michael wrote: "I've went with The Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris"Have you read Red Dragon? It's sequentially before Silence, but if you haven't and you like Silence, you should definitely read that one too!

I love Needful Things! I love getting to know all the characters and goings-on. Happy reading!
I want to read Needful Things soon, I've heard it's really good! I just started Lord of the Flies (I've never read it!!) and I'm embarrassed to say I hate it!!! I thought I would love it, but it's so hard for me to get into it when I despise the main character and just want him to get knocked off...I'm on chapter 4 and believe the book has great value so I'll finish...but I'm not really enjoying it!

I think it's impossible to enjoy, but you're right that it is very worth reading. Not that all of aren't aware of just what monsters we can become when left to our own devices.
Kandice that makes me feel a lot better at least, all the people I've talked to have absolutely loved/enjoyed/over the moon for this book....while I don't think I'll EVER love it, I can at least appreciate it!
John Adams Under Fire: The Founding Father's Fight for Justice in the Boston Massacre Murder Trialby Dan Abrams, David Fisher

King mentions this book a lot. So I knew the how it end. King uses this book in his "Hearts in Atlantis" book. Hearts is one of my favorite King's novel. The movie of this book was just so so.
Just finished The Lovecraft Anthology, Volume 1 by H.P. LovecraftThoughts...

Gary I think that's probably where I'll stand as well when I'm done...."just OK". Also thanks for the recommendation of Hearts in Atlantis....I have it but haven't read it yet, maybe it'll be a good one to start when I'm done with Lord of the Flies!
