Nick, have you read anything by Elmore Leonard? I want to read Rum Punch at some point. Guess that means I should read The Switch as well. Anyway, just wondering what thoughts you might have....

I haven't read his big ones, but I did read Up In Honey's Room, which I liked a lot. It's a great picture of the place and feel of Detroit during world war II when the place was so important to the war effort. His dialogue is amazing. I'd definitely read him, in fact I should read more of his work... maybe Get Shorty. Here's my review, https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Fenris (fenrislyulf) | 3 comments I am reading (almost done) The Revisionaries by A. R. Moxon (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...). It has the feel in some ways of an epic Stephen King novel, like The Stand. It's one of the strangest, most marvelous books I've ever read. If you read it, I don't recommend skimming any of it. Savor it, read it slowly. Pay close attention.

Right on. Thanks for the info.

I was going along with the read in order, but after I read The Drawing of the Three, which I hadn't read in many years, I realized that I just had to keep going at least for a little while. Yes W & G is my favorite, but I read it about a hear ago, so I think I can stop after this one. Im looking for the thread on Misery... another of my favorites. I read that last year, but I may try to get into it if I can find a way to delay my read of The Wastelands or I can polish it up in another week.

I finally read the Gunslinger series in its entirety last year and really enjoyed the majority of it. I was surprised by the ending. Do NOT watch the movie, it was most disappointing.

I took a break from it about 350 pages in.....after that, I loved it and breezed right through it. Sometimes I think it might be the particular mood I’m in whether I’m enjoying something or not. I’m really glad I went back to it!

I've really been enjoying it the entire time. I think what's happening here lately is I'm becoming easily distracted by shiney things on TV....

Derrick | 974 comments Well they've now closed all the librarys in the city where I live because of coronavirus. Guess I'll have to make due with what I have here in my apartment which isn't much. :(

Derrick | 974 comments I finished The Fireman. I thought it was really good! There were so many villains, it was hard to guess who was actually good and who was actually bad. I love a big fat book with lots of characters and this fit the bill quite nicely. It also has sparked a bit of an interest in dystopian fiction. I'll be on the lookout for more going forward. Not sure what I'll read next especially since all the librarys in town are now closed till the end of the month.

message 7638: by Kathryn (new)

Kathryn How about used book stores if they’re open?

I got to the Cincinnati OH library an hour before it closed. The book I return when into a bin of books to clean.

Yeah last night my wife suggested that I just go out and buy a book. To be completely honest, up until that point, the thought of just buying a book had never occured to me lol. Here in a little while I'll be heading to the thrift store to see what books I might be able to find.

message 7642: by Derrick (new)

Derrick | 974 comments I definitely scored big time at the thrift store! Picked up Everything's Eventual, 11/22/63, and Koko by Peter Straub. All for ten and some change.

Doctor Sleep is pretty awesome! Hopefully, you'll enjoy it too. I thought King did a good job overall with the connections to The Shining.

I'm all for staying inside, then I can catch up on all the books I have laying around! My town library is closed due to the virus so I have three more books trapped there.

I live in the woods and only venture out once a week for groceries. I don’t have to alter my lifestyle at all, just sit at home, read and watch the masses panic.

I'll probably be starting it after I've finished Everything's Eventual. I seem to be flying right along so shouldn't be too much longer.
