It's a great picture of the place and feel of Detroit during world war II when the place was so important to the war effort. His dialogue is amazing. I'd definitely read him, in fact I should read more of his work... maybe Get Shorty. Here's my review, https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Nick, The Wastelands is my favorite DT book! If I remember correctly, W&G was your favorite. Are you re-reading them all?
I am reading (almost done) The Revisionaries by A. R. Moxon (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...). It has the feel in some ways of an epic Stephen King novel, like The Stand. It's one of the strangest, most marvelous books I've ever read. If you read it, I don't recommend skimming any of it. Savor it, read it slowly. Pay close attention.

Nicole wrote: "Nick, The Wastelands is my favorite DT book! If I remember correctly, W&G was your favorite. Are you re-reading them all?"I was going along with the read in order, but after I read The Drawing of the Three, which I hadn't read in many years, I realized that I just had to keep going at least for a little while. Yes W & G is my favorite, but I read it about a hear ago, so I think I can stop after this one. Im looking for the thread on Misery... another of my favorites. I read that last year, but I may try to get into it if I can find a way to delay my read of The Wastelands or I can polish it up in another week.

I finally read the Gunslinger series in its entirety last year and really enjoyed the majority of it. I was surprised by the ending. Do NOT watch the movie, it was most disappointing.
Finishing up End of Watch and changing it up a bit and also reading Where The Hell Is My Bacon?: How an Innocent Pork Product Conquered Employee Engagement and Change Management at a Large Midwestern Corporation by Beth Anne Campbell
The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane A friend's 4 grade son is reading this book at school. I just look it up, read the intro, then I got it yesterday at the library. I am 74% done with it. An interesting book.
Starting The Testaments today and am also reading WOLFPACK: How to Come Together, Unleash Our Power, and Change the Game as my current non fiction read.
I'm about a third into The Crow Girl by Erik Axl Sund and it's so so good I'll be amazed if it's not in my top 3 at the end of the year
I'm reading You Cannot Be Serious, a book that makes me know better a great champion like John Mcenroe.
I'm approaching the halfway mark in The Fireman. I've had it for a week today. This will be the first time in the last seven or eight books I've read where I haven't finished it in a week or less. I must be slippin'
Just started Dreamcatcher. After that it's Danse Macabre and I'll have read every one of SK's books!

Sometimes I think it might be the particular mood I’m in whether I’m enjoying something or not. I’m really glad I went back to it!

I think what's happening here lately is I'm becoming easily distracted by shiney things on TV....
Linda wrote: "I havent started yet but if I remember correctly I really enjoyed it the first time."The movie is really good as well.
I’m reading Freedom by Jonathan Franzen. I feel guilty, it’s been a couple of years since I read something from Ours. Doctor Sleep I believe
Also, done with Black House. I might re read the Dark Tower books. There so many connections in the Black House.
Finished
Creatures of Appetite by Todd Travis, quite good 4 stars, and starting
The General's Daughter by Nelson DeMille.
Well they've now closed all the librarys in the city where I live because of coronavirus. Guess I'll have to make due with what I have here in my apartment which isn't much. :(
I finished The Fireman. I thought it was really good! There were so many villains, it was hard to guess who was actually good and who was actually bad. I love a big fat book with lots of characters and this fit the bill quite nicely. It also has sparked a bit of an interest in dystopian fiction. I'll be on the lookout for more going forward. Not sure what I'll read next especially since all the librarys in town are now closed till the end of the month.

The book I return when into a bin of books to clean.
Kathryn wrote: "How about used book stores if they’re open?"Yeah last night my wife suggested that I just go out and buy a book. To be completely honest, up until that point, the thought of just buying a book had never occured to me lol. Here in a little while I'll be heading to the thrift store to see what books I might be able to find.
I definitely scored big time at the thrift store! Picked up Everything's Eventual, 11/22/63, and Koko by Peter Straub. All for ten and some change.
Corey wrote: "Tonight I'm starting Doctor Sleep, so excited!"Doctor Sleep is pretty awesome! Hopefully, you'll enjoy it too. I thought King did a good job overall with the connections to The Shining.
i got fed up with all this Corona virus BS and decided to turn off the news. I would up reading The Stand in like 6 days. now THATS a flu! hahahahaAnywho, now it's back to my Star Trek The Next Generation books. haha
current read: Star Trek TNG Kahless.

I'm all for staying inside, then I can catch up on all the books I have laying around! My town library is closed due to the virus so I have three more books trapped there.

I live in the woods and only venture out once a week for groceries. I don’t have to alter my lifestyle at all, just sit at home, read and watch the masses panic.

I'll probably be starting it after I've finished Everything's Eventual. I seem to be flying right along so shouldn't be too much longer.

Nick, have you read anything by Elmore Leonard? I want to read Rum Punch at some point. Guess that means I should read The Switch as well. Anyway, just wondering what thoughts you might have....
