I hope you enjoy it. I've read a few of the Odd Thomas books but not the whole series. The mixture of horror and humor is fun.

Another Kootz book I really loved is called (I think) One Door from Heaven. Or One Door Away from Heaven. Something like that. It's not an Odd Thomas book but it's uplifting.

Good so far! I am almost finished. I think I did figure out “who done it” but it isn’t disappointing to figure it out. If that makes sense. I have 25% left, things could change. LOL.

It was good. One of the better crime thriller suspense books I have read in a while. Lately they have been lackluster. This one is worth reading.

Marlise (mawz76) | 119 comments Okay I think I'm going a little overboard at the present moment.

I'm listening to 3 audiobooks...
One Door Away from Heaven
Moby-Dick, or, the Whale
The Medieval World

And I'm reading two physical books...
The Talisman
When French Women Cook: A Gastronomic Memoir

Glenn Whatley Just finished reading Tai-Pan by James Clavell. It was absolutely phenomenal, would totally recommend it to anyone who enjoys long, in-depth novels. Similarly, I would also recommend James Clavell's best known book, Shogun.

Actually amazing. I was just looking for some good hard sci-fi when I bought this book, but it's so much more than that, though there's still plenty of technical, and mostly accurate (some liberties for the sci fi stuff, of course), scientific jargon. Aside from that, it somehow it has time to discuss Maoist China and philosophize about humanity.

Alondra Miller Reading Ravenous by Ray Garton.

I'd been slogging through some fantasy and sci-fi that was boring me to tears, then I picked this horror-fest, and got my mojo back.

I also just completed Afraid. Blood and gore from the beginning.

Diane (dianealbanese) I’m reading The Stand, the long version. 44 hours of audio but I know from other King books that this allows us to be deeply drawn into the characters and the plot can be complex. I compare it to The Dome which I really enjoyed.
