Got through some more today, and it's been interesting. Just not quite what I had in mind. It's my first Simmons book, but I'm very interested in reading The Terror and Hyperion as well. Hopefully this one ends strong so I'm not dissuaded from reading those.

I generally enjoy Dan Simmons’s novels very much. I can only recall one or two that I didn’t. A couple of my favorites are Black Hills and The Fifth Heart.

message 7053: by Brax (new)

Brax Henley (cheds) I really liked the President is Missing, too

Wise Cat (wisecat) Halfway through The Darkest Hour by Erin Hunter, #6 in the first sub-series of the Warriors books. And just starting A Discovery of Witches.

I recently enjoyed the TV series of the latter on BBCA. They made just 8 episodes, making me want more. And I also had to read the book when I noticed it was based on one (like most TV shows or movies are). Really enjoying it, though after seeing the series it's a bit slow but I have to keep in mind this isn't like TV, LOL.

Anansi Boys is way at the top of my list of favorites. Certainly one of Gaiman's best.
