One of the biggest challenge is to think of the next book to pick up after finishing a brilliant thriller, mystery and science fiction all rolled into an awesome book.....

I'm reading Shadows of Self, another good novel in this series. I had scheduled to read this one and the following, but unfortunately the reading is a little slow, so I'm far behind.
Reading... The Day of the Triffids by John WyndhamListening... The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien (love the narrator of this series)
Just finished Lethal White. I'm a big fan of this series, so of course, I rated it highly. I was also happy to see so many positive reviews by Goodreads friends. I should address the complexity of the plot and the number of characters, but then after THE STAND, how can you not like that? Here's my review:

All American Murder. The rise and fall of Aaron Hernandez. 12 steps & 12 traditions again. Alcoholics Anonymous again and a Robert Parker book. I can never just read 1 book. Oh and Eat That Frog
I've set it aside at the moment Welly, it's ok nothing special I've only the last story left but I bought The Strain by Guillermo Del Toro and chuck Hogan and got started on that

If you only have "Rain" left, then you aren't missing much. I'm sure you will find it will be your least favorite out of all four of them. I would rather watch paint dry than have to read that story again...... I agree, though. Strange Weather was ok.... nothing special.

I think it would be better if you read them in order... at least read the first one in the series first. Strike's agency and the story of Robin evolve from book to book. The mysteries stand alone, but the supporting material flows better in order.
Here's the first book:

Hmmm I'm not impressed Wally I had high hopes but once I bought The Strain I had to dive in after loads of positive feedback on FB

Anything other than mind blowing is unacceptable for me, if written by JH.... His novels are night and day from his short stories (just my opinion)….. Hopefully, Full Throttle will be an improvement.
I've only read Heart Shaped Box Wally so that give me high hopes, I'll get another of his novels soon it won't put me off him
Just got the audiobook for different seasons. I've read it before and listened to the audio of Shawshank and The Body, But this will be my first listen to Apt Pupil... looking forward to it.

I'm reading The Godfather, so many years after I've seen the movie. Sometimes it's crude, but a thrilling novel.
I'm about to "re-introduce" myself to SciFi grandmaster, Clifford D. Simak by reading his early novelette. "The Creator" from the early 1930's!
Murray wrote: "Andrew I'm also reading the Godfather I'm only about 60 pages in."I read the first two parts and the story is increasingly engaging.

SK : Everything's EventualNon SK : To kill a Mockingbird (The graphic ed.)
I gotta say this about 'Everything Eventual' that this book is THE WHOLE PACKAGE gift wrapped by Stephen King himself. I loved the autobiographical accounts in BAZZAR OF BAD DREAMS and in this one they are even more interesting :) !!! Yay!

Little Sisters, Luckey Quarter and Riding the Bullet are my three favorites in that book.... The rest of the book, I could take or leave....

Right now I think it's a little slow but what could be throwing me off is the story being told backwards.
