Andrew✌️ (andrew619) | 335 comments I'm reading Shadows of Self, another good novel in this series. I had scheduled to read this one and the following, but unfortunately the reading is a little slow, so I'm far behind.

Nick Iuppa | 4272 comments Just finished Lethal White. I'm a big fan of this series, so of course, I rated it highly. I was also happy to see so many positive reviews by Goodreads friends. I should address the complexity of the plot and the number of characters, but then after THE STAND, how can you not like that?

Here's my review:

Do the Cormoran Strike series, written by J. K. Rowling have to be read in order?

My sentiments, exactly.... If you only have "Rain" left, then you aren't missing much. I'm sure you will find it will be your least favorite out of all four of them. I would rather watch paint dry than have to read that story again...... I agree, though. Strange Weather was ok.... nothing special.

I think it would be better if you read them in order... at least read the first one in the series first. Strike's agency and the story of Robin evolve from book to book. The mysteries stand alone, but the supporting material flows better in order.

Here's the first book:

As a borderline stalker of Joe Hill (seeing him tonight in Exeter, actually), I had extremely high hopes for Strange Weather so I was very disappointed. Anything other than mind blowing is unacceptable for me, if written by JH.... His novels are night and day from his short stories (just my opinion)….. Hopefully, Full Throttle will be an improvement.

Heart Shaped Box was awesome.... so is The Fireman and NOS4A2 (read this one before the show comes out and ruins it for you)….

Right now I think it's a little slow but what could be throwing me off is the story being told backwards.
