Gotcha. You and a few others. This definitely looks like a trilogy that needs to be discussed. Now, I just gotta find a good copy. :)

I really loved Norse Mythology, Mr. Books. But I have to say, you really should listen to Neil Gaiman read it aloud via audiobook. His voice and reading style are fabulous.

Here's my review:

Glen | 229 comments @Atlanta, I just found City of Mirrors HB in a used book store to complete my set. I have yet to read the third book but, it’s been so long I’m feeling like I’ll go back to the start and re-read The Passage and The Twelve by Cronin first.

That’s what I did when City of Mirrors came out. I re-read the first two. This is one of my favorite series.

message 6590: by Glen (new)

Glen | 229 comments @ Nancy Typically I wouldn’t need to re-read previous novels as I absorb a lot when I read. I’m quite a slow reader to some but, generally retain everything. In the case of Cronin’s series however, his story spans over lifetimes and has many many characters. I found reading The Twelve after reading The Passage years prior was a bit confusing. So reading them all in succession I hope I’ll enjoy it like I did The Passage initially.

I didn’t reread The Passage when The Twelve came out since it was only two years but City of Mirrors was 6 yrs after The Passage came out. So it deserved a reread. I definitely enjoyed them just as much if not more reading them in succession.

message 6596: by Glen (new)

Glen | 229 comments I had no clue The Passage had been adapted to the small screen? From what I’ve read in regards to reviews, especially from those who have read the books, it’s failing hard, much like Under the Dome did. Why deviate so much from a perfect story? It happens all too often. Sometimes we are granted gems like 11/22/63 or Lord of the Rings or even Game of Thrones. Then there is The Dark Tower left in ruin, crumbled in despair of what could have been. ‘Sigh’
