I’m 1/4 through and I am surprised it wasn’t in the children’s section versus the YA at the library. It’s seems more juvenile. It must be the topic that bumped it to YA.

I’ll finish since it’s a group read. Is this the book you read and didn’t care for?

Wise Cat (wisecat) Now starting Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare, first book in the Infernal Devices trilogy.

I had just finished The Bane Chronicles also by Clare with a few other authors. It had some minor spoilers for the above book....Oh well, LOL. I have to say to myself "These are not real people!"

But they SEEM real to me! :-)

Also reading Dietrich and Riefenstahl by Karin Wieland (I think that's her last name). It's okay so far.

Nick Iuppa | 4272 comments Just finished The Shadow of the Wind. Looks like lots of you have already read it with many positives and some mixed reviews. As you might expect, I loved it. I'll have a review up as soon as I digest it all. But I do think Stephen King summed it up beautifully: "If you thought the gothic novel died with the 19th century, THE SHADOW OF THE WIND will change your mind. It's the real deal, a novel full of cheesy splendor and creaking trapdoors, a novel where even the subplots have subplots... this is one gorgeous read." What King doesn't mention is the fabulous characters, the deep foggy imagery, and the humor.

Oh, I'm sorry. I misunderstood. I thought you meant you were reading The Bible all of the way through. I guess I shouldn't have assumed. haha
