W & G is my favorite King book period, mostly because of the Susan Delgado story. I've never been grabbed like that by any other book. But as you say different strokes.

I agree 200%. :-) It's a trilogy and I loved it. What a wake up call. It should be required reading for everyone old enough to read and to depend on/use electronics....which is most of the population.

Honestly, we are so vulnerable. It's a plausible scenario.

message 6332: by Nick (new)

Nick Iuppa | 4272 comments I wanted to double check the beginning of Boy, Snow, Bird to see if somehow there was any constancy at all. And now I find myself re-reading (actually re-listening to) the whole thing again. I've never re-read (or re-listened to) a book immediately after reading it the first time, But the writing is so damn good it's hard to set it aside, and somehow I missed so much the first time through.

I'm also still enjoying THE ONE.

You're right, about Dolores Claiborne, Raffaele. Good review, thanks. Now take a look at Gerald's Game supposedly occurring at the exact same time that key moments in Dolores's story are. A completely different book and more controversial, but well worth the read, I think.

message 6349: by Nick (new)

Nick Iuppa | 4272 comments Just finished my second complete read of Boy, Snow, Bird. I started out trying to figure out if the ending was plausible and set up in any way by the opening chapters. I also wanted to see why so many of the people I really admire didn't like this book. Then I was captured by the clever dialogue and intriguing plotline. As an old Disney fan I also wanted to revisit the fairy tales that form the basis of the story (Is it really Snow White told from the point of view of the wicked queen?) Mirrors sure play a major part. I'll have yet another review after I figure out what to say.
