Alondra Miller Finally finished Assassin's Quest and loved it. I didn't like the ending much and yet loved it. Kind of like I didn't love the final DT, but understood it. Alas....

Anywho; also finished The Deep. I was pretty much rolling my eyes and at times giggling by the end. It was entertaining, but don't break the bank to get a copy.

Alondra Miller Did Jason or Freddy hack through this thread??? No updates in 4 days, really??? LOL

Anywho..... Finishing up Dead Sea, which is actually pretty good.

I also started Rolling in the Deep on my kindle. I really wanted the physical book, but the prices are ridiculous. Publishers and authors doing limited editions that shoot up the prices.... I mean, I get it. I am not an author; but $70+ for a used 124-page novella???? It's good, but it's not great.

WOW.....I've always been amazed at how much some books, novellas, etc. cost. Even when they are e-books.

I didn't know there were BOOKS!!! :-) Before or after the series?! Was the series based on the books? Shows I'm out of the loop...LOL

Anyway, I have my hands full with the TV series. :) And all the other books I'm wanting to read.

Yes these books were written after Seventh Doctor(S Mccoy) and before the new series started.

Glen | 229 comments The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson

Friend at work bought it for me out of the blue so I gave him back a HB of Jim Butcher.

So far I’m really enjoying it! It’s been ages since I read a book that’s in the fantasy genre which was the Terry Brooks 4 book Heritage of Shannara series.

Peter Davidson was the 5th Doctor, Colin Baker was the 6th Doctor, and then Slyvester McCoy was the 7th Doctor.

Nick Iuppa | 4272 comments I don't know... something about that last election made me start reading BELOVED by Toni Morrison. Never read it before, pretty damn great, there's even an angry ghost. Still re-listening to The Dark Tower 7. Frankly, I don't want it to end. (view spoiler)

LOL. "There's even an angry ghost."

When I got to the end of DT7, I could only cry no... over and over. It took me a few days to get over the initial shock. I understand the ending, but I don't like it. :(

Bleak Harbor by Bryan Gruley. It is a kidnapping mystery/thriller. It’s quite good.

I'm reserving judgment until I go through it this time. But I think you summed up my previous take perfectly,
"understood it but didn't like it."

message 6234: by Summer (new)

Summer (paradisecity) | 360 comments I recently finished The Girl in 6E, which was an interesting little thriller about a camgirl with urges to kill so she keeps herself locked in her apartment. It was clearly written by a man with a female pen name (the pun in the title alone gives it away), but it was an interesting read. If there are folks out there looking for your sexy murderess, she's in this book.

Right....Thank you. Gosh it shows how out of it I am on these things. :-) I don't know if I'll ever get around to reading the books but will add those to my ever GROWING list!

I'm not as familiar with the actors who played The Doctor in the original run. :-)

Alondra Miller Just finished: Black Mad Wheel by Josh Malerman Black Mad Wheel, and gave it 3.5 Stars. The end was not enough for me. Maybe, I just don't get it, but it sucked. The story was great for having a 2-dimensional main character.

Yes; I also read a short story on SAND. It was ruthless and I liked it; so I bought the book!

He also has another out called Beacon 23. I read one part of it already, and it was pretty good. Set in space.
