Nick,

I really enjoyed it. Crouch has a completely different writing style, but it gripped me and I finished that book at a quicker pace than I usually do.

message 5159: by Aditya (new)

Aditya Finished Black Cherry Blues by James Lee Burke. Brilliant author. One of the strongest protagonist in any crime series I have read Robicheaux is fast becoming my second favorite protagonist in crime fiction after Marlowe.

message 5161: by Aditya (new)

Aditya Finished A Morning for Flamingoes. Sticking to Burke as his Dave Robicheaux series is excellent. Read it if you like great hard boiled dialogue or lyrical, evocative descriptions or consistently compelling characters. Rating 5/5.

Rhian (rhianlovesbooksx1f4d6) | 508 comments I can barely remember it Linda it was easily forgotten but I think I remember feeling annoyed that the story wasn't resolved I had probably read her first 8 books in the series and read it out of curiosity to see how it moved on, anyway disappointed

Rhian (rhianlovesbooksx1f4d6) | 508 comments I loved it Nick I didn't want it to finish, as always with King I just loved the characters and without spoiling anything I felt like I'd been punched in the stomach at the end of chapters in the last quarter, I couldn't sleep after I finished it at a stupid time and I'm keeping it to read again some day

I feel the exact same way... It's one of my favorites.

Aditya Remember seeing Kramer vs Kramer, was a good movie. Hoffman inspite of his recent troubles remains one of the best actors of his generation.

Right now the book is just "so-so" for me but I do hear the movie is pretty good.

message 5180: by Linda (new)

Linda (beaulieulinda117gmailcom) | 1115 comments It wasn't one of her best novels. The whole story felt wrong. I felt like I was jilted out of a good story.

message 5181: by Kelsey (new)

Kelsey (klpurcell) I'm in the midst of The Reckoners trilogy (about halfway through Firefight), and I've fallen in love with Brandon Sanderson's writing. Even though it's a young adult novel, I feel like he's a fantasy author I could really get behind. Needless to say, I LOVE these books so far and really hope the ending (both to Firefight and also to the trilogy) doesn't let me down!

I’m really enjoying it so far!

message 5188: by Nicole (new)

Nicole Stanley | 32 comments Currently about halfway through Nightingale, which is a little different from what I normally read, but it was on Goodreads Choice Awards last year so I picked it up. Coincidentally I just finished Annihilation, which it looks like this group also read, and I borrowed the other two books in that series so I was hoping to start them sometime soon. Also want to start Sleeping Beauties and Carrie... How to fit in all these books...!
