Just getting into the audiobook of Sleeping Beauties, reading some of the stories in Hearts in Atlantis while watching Ken Burns Documentary about Vietnam. King really captures the spirit of the time. Also reading and judging scripts for the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose... almost all horror stories!!

So true about Hearts in Atlantis; especially like his description of the peace sign on the back of the denim jackets..,

Just finished the two short stories in Hearts in Atlantis that are specific to Vietnam. But I think it proves again my contention that this is a novel not a collection of short stories. There are too many references to the previous stories to make it totally comprehensible. You really have to read the whole book... in order. Starting to focus on Sleeping Beauties.

The stories themselves are complete but with characters and references that continue one to the next and build with ongoing character development. Still a really great book. Also, no one mentions this as a great King movie adaptation. I didn't see the movie myself, but I know that it was nominated for an Oscar for best picture.
Just finished Sleeping Beauties, and now it is on to Robert Bloch's Psychos, a short-story anthology from 1997, edited by Robert Bloch. It includes King's "Autopsy Room Four", but I've already read that from Everything's Eventual.

Finished The Thin Man by Dashiell Hammett. Possibly my favorite Hammett. An unique mystery with a healthy dose of sattire. Rating - 5/5.My Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Finished reading Chandler and now Hammett. Any suggestions which classic hard boiled author could be next?? I am leaning towards Ross Macdonald.
I'm reading "The Reckoners" series by Brandon Sanderson. I've finished Steelheart last week and now Im reading Firefight. A good series, with mystery, action and an intriguing plot.

Yesterday I finished Elsewhere, not bad, but maybe my expectations were too hight.Today I started Horrorstör, a book I bought some month ago. For the setting, this one attracted my attention and now that Halloween is coming, it's the right moment to start.
Still reading and judging scripts for the Cinequest Film Festival. This new one is a comedy about witches... cool. Also just starting READY PLAYER ONE.
Oh twilight... It was a really important book to me (it got me into reading! And it is actually where I learned english from... before reading it my english was really bad,I only knew some basic words and I did not know much about the english grammar but since the movie came out it spoke to my then teenager heart and I absolutelly had to read the book! BUT they hadnt translated it to my native language yet so I had to pick up the english copy and now here I am ... reading some very thick Stephen King books and other stfd in English and aslso writing reviews in this language). I have not read it in years though..I kind of want to re-read but I am afraid that now that I am older,I will see how poorly it was written and I kind of don't want to ruin the experience I had with it ..

My take on the writing in Twilight is that is written in a teen girl's vernacular and it sounds very real to me. I thought it was enjoyable.

On my first read of Dreamcatcher. Seems to be one of those that provokes mixed reactions but am really enjoying so far. There’s been plenty of belching and farting - King has a way with words when it comes to bodily functions :)
Hard to choose a book to follow Heart Shaped Box but I'm reading The darkest secret by Alex Marwood, it's reminiscent of the Maddie McCann case and so good so far
