Carina Just to add a second warning if you have not read the first Jon chapter in this book this will act as a bit of a spoiler.

Okay - so I noticed this when I read the book and have been mulling it over for a while - and I am probably coming very late to the party but still...

In Jons chapter when he it is Ghosts point of view there is mention of the direwolf pups and how there is only one that Ghost can no longer sense.

If it had been Jon dicussing this/thinking that then it might make sense as thier is no guarentee that Jon knew Lady was killed. However the way I read it was that it was Ghosts thoughts on the matter.

Now if that is the case does that not suggest that Robb and his direwolf are still alive?

Lesley Arrowsmith I think Robb and Grey Wind are pretty definitively dead by this point.

Carina That is what I thought but Ghost seemed to be still sensing 4 other wolves and the books have said two are dead so he should only sense 3... I cannot decide if it is a typo or something more.

Mitchell Fobbester assuming you've read the whole book, this won't be a spoiler, if you haven't, then probably not a good idea to read ahead.

we already know that death is a loose concept in these books, what with 'lady stone heart' and 'the lightning lord' and with the possible identity of the new knight on the scene at kings landing (the really big one who won't speak and won't remove his helmet, i wonder why).

Robb has had his head switched with grey wind, maybe he comes back as some kind of wolf man, living up to the legends of the people of Westeros yes i know that's a little far fetched but with all the other stuff going on, is it really that unlikely.

it could also be that sensing the wolves, doesn't just apply to the wolves but as couples, the wolf and the human, with Sansa still alive and only lady dead he may still be able to sense her, but with Robb and Grey Wind both dead, maybe that's why he can't sense them anymore.

Or it's just a typo and everything I've just said is meaningless.

further more, i think it's safe to say that Jon will be in the next book

I agree Jon will definitely be in the next book. I'm kind of thinking this must have been a typo because there was so little evidence of anything else in the rest of the book...

Mitchell Fobbester i am inclined to believe that it is a typo too. everything i just said is very over analysed but i like check all possible points before coming to a conclusion.
