No, we are terrible hoarders and don't delete threads :o
Do you mean this one: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... ?

It doesn't matter much right now, because I'm trying to use the challenges to clean my TBR list, but I'm curious for future challenges... O.O?

Yes and no. It depends. It's very subjective.
Yes, you can use the same books between various monthly challenges / seasonal challenges / regular challenges.
What you can't do is use the same book between two different RPG challenges. So within the RPG game it's one book per challenge. Then, for the "Choose Your Own Adventure" challenge, you can use the same book unless you are wanting to get Gem Coins, then you have to use different ones.
So, it all depends on the challenge. I'd suggest just reading the rules of any challenge and if it doesn't say, then you can use it for multiple ones.

Thx :)

Sure! You can join our Cleaning out the TBR Closet to do just that.
Some of us are reading the oldest books on our "to read", and there are also some people reading books they own and haven't yet read :)

I am going to join it and try to decide which books I am going to put on my list there..

and after I did it, a message came up and said I couldn't post anything because I wasn't a member , so I had to rejoin the group , so can any one tell me why that did that

Now that is very odd! Maybe it was a Goodreads bug? I checked the GR Feedback group but no one else mentioned having the same problem.

No because I have it to stay logged in here on Goodreads like you said it could of been a Goodreads bug.

thanks!

Hi Paige, Welcome!
It can be a little daunting :o Unfortunately Goodreads is not the most user friendly interface for groups, so it can be hard to navigate.
Have you checked out our thread here which is a bit of a "where to start" depending on what you would like to do.
We have a new Book of the Month discussion starting on the 12th (Rebel of the Sands) and a team challenge about to begin, plus loads of individual reading challenges.
If you'd like to check out that link and then let us know if there is anything you'd like more info on?
thanks!"

Hi Paige :)
To start a challenge, just pick one and post you are in. After that all you need is to keep track of your progress, either by editing your first post or post new one when you accomplish something. There are different types of challenges and they ae mostly grouped by similarities. I'm not promising all are here, but it can help - challenge index
As for Rebel in the Sands, you can find book discussion here

I'm new on this group, and I'd like to know if there are any challenges planned to start next month?
I'm still trying to figure stuff out (Kudos to the Mods for being on top of all the awesome things going on here), and from what I've read, its better to start out slow, with a few challenges, and then work my way up from there...?
Any help is appreciated :D

Hi Rida and welcome!
Thanks for the nice words.
If you read at least a book a week you can sign up to be a reserve for Wobble and when there is space we will let you know and assign you a team. Sign up form is here
You can also join an Around the World team Challenge here or, wait for our newsletter in a few days where we will post any new individual challenges for July :)

Thanks Karen - I filled the form out last week but wasn't sure if that was only for initial sign ups- good to hear I'm on the waiting list - sounds like a fun challenge

Hi, I just filled out that form as well, since I am a member of Team Readers of the world Unite for the Around the world Team Challenge and we are almost done with the last leg. I joined late but I so enjoyed being part of a team challenge that I really want to get involved with others. I am having so much fun at NBRC! Thanks

Wobble is a one time type of thing but we run various team challenges a few times a year.

I see that new challenges are posted in the Newsletter each month. Are new challenges ever posted later in the month that aren't included in the newsletter?

Very rarely we have some challenge starting in the middle of the month. But if that happens, it's going to be mentioned in next newsletter.

I saw you found help, but in case anyone else still needs it, there is Goodreads 101 folder where you can find some neat GR instructions and/or practice your html stuff.

Are you talking about this index?
We did try to separate challenge types in different folders so all similar challenges are together. for example challenges with sub-genre theme are here
It's still work in progress and sometimes it's different to do it since some challenges are mix of everything (tasks and spell-it-outs).
We are also working on revamping older challenges so we'll fit them properly as we go.

What is a book sprint?
What book challenge are there in this group?
Do we have to read the book of the month?
What is WOBBLE?

Wobble is our current team challenge. We usually have couple of different ones during a year. This is first time we are doing wobble. Basically it consists of 6 different games played for few weeks. We have about a month and a half left (bingo is over this week) and if you are interested, we could always use backups. Some players had to drop out. Each game has it's own rules and they are posted as they come. You can find general rules and explanations here and if you want to sign up, go here (click on the image and you'll open sign-up form ☺)
OK, now to answer rest of Hege's questions:
- book sprint is like small read-a-thons (when you read as much as you can for certain period of time). Read-a-thons usually are over longer periods, for example few days, but we started those sprints, so people can do them on smaller time scales - couple of minutes/hours. Basically it works that you go to Sprint thread and post how long you are going to read. After that period people usually post what they were reading and how much have they read. That's optional.
- There are plenty of book challenges here. Monthly, seasonal, yearly, no-time-limit,... Most things going in this group are challenges. :) You can find list (I'm not promising that everything is in there!) here
- No, you don't have to read Book of the Month with us.
On the right side of each post you can see time/date when it was posted. Right click on that, and copy link location
