Wyatt Binet | 2 comments An alien space ship land in medieval time (probably England). The aliens think they are far superior but soon their ship is captures by knights etc.

Sorry, that all I can remember about it.

Thanks.

A really GREAT novel. Now, if I could just remember what happened to my copy. :o(

But I agree with Andy--this is definitely The High Crusade

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments I too would guess HC, however there's another book with this theme as well. If that isn't the correct book I'll try and figure out the other one.

Cheryl reminded me which book it was: _The Excalibur Alternative_ by David Weber which is based off of a novel by David Drake (but that one has a Roman legion, IIRC). Info on the Drake novel is left off this message, so that people (*ahem* Cheryl) don't link it inappropriately and clutter up the search results.

Cheryl (cherylllr) Who me? I don't remember doing anything with Weber or Drake. If I did, I do apologize.

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments Naw, you did it on another discussion, where the third book in the trilogy was the only name I could remember, but was unrelated to the question (or theme) that I was responding to.

No problem, but that just taught me to be more judicious in what information I post.

Mir | 802 comments Michael Flynn's Eifelheim also has aliens landing in Germany during the Middles Ages.

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments That's quite interesting Miriam, something I've never read - however the book description says: "interstellar ship crashes in the nearby forest", and seems to be more about the village (along with wise priest who interfaces with aliens) leaving Earth, than a number of knights taking over overly smug aliens' ship.

Wyatt Binet | 2 comments I'm pretty sure it would be The High Crusade.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

Cheers.
