If a book is missing from the GoodReads database it can be added by anyone, but there are some important rules to follow.
Book can be added from here, but if you have never done this and are unsure it is better to ask a Librarian to do it. You can just post a new discussion on this group, or even in this topic.
After a book is added it has to be MANUALLY combined with the other editions and this is done only by Librarians and staff, post here.
If you find duplicate authors or empty profiles they should also be merged.
Please, if you see any problems report them. - Missing covers (if you own the book it is better to take a snapshot and upload in your own pictures then post in the Librarian group. Pictures from book sellers are not allowed. If you are creating a new edition DO NOT upload covers from AMAZON or another bookseller. Best source is publisher site. - Reviews from any kind are not allowed in the description. If you see such please report them, so they are removed. - Wrong author names should be reported. There should be only ONE name for author. Putting multiple names creates a DUMMY author profile. * Commas are not allowed. * There should be dots after initials. * Dr, Md, Mrs, are NOT allowed in the names. * the words et. al., others, more and etc., are not allowed in authors names * Editor, author, illustrator should not BE in the authors names (they should appear after the name in grey font in parenthesis) * anthologies should list ALL authors, or at least a known edition. Anthology is not an author, neither is the manufacturer or the publishing house.
When Adding an edition there are rules for authors with the same name. Spaces are left between names to distinguish between them. Rules for disambiguating author names. Good reads allow MULTIPLE authors. Check THIS to see HOW to add more then ONE author.
If book should be a part of a series, but none are created, please report HERE.
