I remember reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" and it was really good, I think Charlie explained why he liked it, but I don't exactly remember what he said.

I've been buying up all the books he mentioned, mostly off amazon because their cheaper. I plan on reading them through the summer and then re-reading The Perks. Yes I loved this book very much. I'm also doing this because I'm going into my freshman year ;)

Casey I read a few of the books but definitely plan on purchasing those I haven't read! I always try to read literature that authors insist on mentioning in their own works. To me it's a great recommendation :).

Jonas i have "to kill a mockingbird" laying around here, i should read it soon

Lilac I read a few of the before reading this book and a few more after reading it, but not just because they were mentioned; they sounded interesting too.

Eva to kill a mockingbird, the stranger, the catcher in the rye, now reading on the road and want to read the great gatsby :)

Richard To Kill a Mockingbird - read it, didn't like it. it's ok but the trial sequences irked me
Great Gatsby - read it, hated it. appalling book
The Stranger - it's good if you're in a darker mood. The Plague was better
A Separate Peace - not read
Peter Pan - read it, forgettable in an unforgettable way
Hamlet - adore it. love it. love it
The Catcher in the Rye - if you are a teenager it should be essential reading. it's impossible to re-read once you get older
One the Road - plodding dirge
Naked Lunch - almost unreadable
Walden - not read
The Fountainhead - anything by ann rand is shite
This Side of Paradise - not read

I've read most of them. I have not read This Side of Paradise, & while it's possible I read The Stranger when I was in high school I remember nothing of it, so I would not count it.
