Possible movie rejection rumor

Saw on the literary agent who reps Marie Lu, that they walked away from an offer because Hollywood wanted to whitewash the characters and they didn't. I didn't see many books that looked like they featured ppl of color so I only assumed the literary agent could have been referring to Legend.

i think that a lot of what makes some of these stories great is the diversity that comes along with them, but what you'll also notice in a lot of dystopian books it's all about trying to streamline society and whatnot to make a surviving super race so it wouldn't be completely surprising to see that Hollywood might want to go down that route since that's what the books do.
