5.9 – 90 years ago.
In 1923, a hit song was “Yes! We Have No Bananas!” Yes! We Have No Bananas.
Read a book with the name of a fruit or vegetable in the title/subtitle, or a picture of a fruit or vegetable on the cover. Plurals and possessives are fine for the word in title/subtitle option, but no other variations. REQUIRED: If you choose the cover option, you must include the cover in your post.

Andy Plonka (plonkaac) | 4207 comments no hurry, but does this book work for the cover option/? The Case of the Missing Servant (Vish Puri, Most Private Investigator, #1) by Tarquin Hall It looks to me like the green things suspended from the ceiling are green pepper with some sort of yellow fruit, maybe a lemon underneath the peppers

I just realized that this is not the edition I have, so my description doesn't match and the ISBN that I have doesn't match any on GR. The # on my book is 9780091925635. I'll find something else to use for this task.

LOL, I saw two books with chocolate in that list so don't believe all the books in that list fit. ;)

Cacao is the fruit from which chocolate is made of. :)

Bea Andy, your ISBN is on GR but the cover does not match the one you were asking about.

What can I say. I have the book in my hand. It looks like I should use another book. That would be simpler for all concerned. Plus with the number of books we need to read this season, I may not finish anyway.

The librarians can add an alternate cover if you want. Post in the anyone with library status... thread.

Thanks, everyone, who pitched in on this one. Between being away and the repeated "over capacity" messages, it's a challenge in itself to even respond to questions!

An orange is a fruit, so yes, it works.

tangerine works, but it appears that it only exists in ebook form, so you'll need to get it approved for length.

The "Beck and the Great Berry Battle" does have fruit on the cover, but is a "transition" book.
Transition books -- Sometimes called "early chapter books" for ages 6-9, they bridge the gap between easy readers and chapter books. Written like easy readers in style, transition books have a smaller trim size with black-and-white illustrations every few pages. See "The Kids of the Polk Street School" series by Patricia Reilly Giff (Dell) or the "Stepping Stone Books" published by Random House.

When evaluating a book under this rule, ask yourself, "Who is the intended audience of this book?". If that intended audience is 9 years old or younger, it probably doesn't work for SRC tasks.

This book is labelled under the "stepping stones" imprint, and the Amazon description shows it as being geared to 6-9 year olds.

It will not work for the SRC.

Your second book is okay.
