If you haven't read Arouse or Allure do not read this discussion as it may contain spoiler.
Do you think Dean was right to hide his past and family from Olivia? I was furious when I found out that Dean has been keeping a secret from Olivia that he was once married before. So I had a discussion with my husband and a friend's husband on this, and from a guy point of view they said they agree with Dean's action. They said that what happen in the past should not be measurement to how a husband love his wife presently, and that doesn't mean that he trust her less it just means that he doesn't want her worry unnecessarily. As a women I like to think you need to be completely open about your past and present with your partner. Anyone care to put their thought? Is this a battle worth picking a fight when you're married?

I would be furious if my husband hid a marriage from me.. you are supposed to be partners.. i know he was trying to 'protect' her and he can't change the past but she has a right to know.. it's keeping a secret life from her.. how can she really know all of him if she doesn't know the good and bad parts of his life?

I would be upset if I had a husband and he didn't tell me he had been married before. I don't have to know all the details of their marriage, but I would like to know the basic facts of his past. I understand that Dean seen it as protecting Liv, but to me it was like he wanted to hide a part of his past. I do agree with BkGurl, his first marriage did affect his marriage to Liv.

We've had two live fan chats with Nina Lane. You can read the transcripts below; however, they do contain spoilers.

The first one was after Arouse was released:

My husband was married and divorced before he met me years later. I can't say I'd be all that angry if I didnt know (although he did tell me early on in our rel). We are very open with each other and I've never had to worry about him hiding anything but things that happend long before I came into the pic and don't affect our lives now, can stay in the past. I'm ok with that.

The difference is that Dean's marriage to Helen DID affect his marriage with Liv...it informed his decisions about having kids and he hadnt healed from it completely. That's why she [Liv] deserved to know, not just because he needed to share everything for sharing sake, IMO.

I have not yet read the book, not even Arouse ,i just saw arouse being tagged as having sa celibate hero,so was Dean celibate before he met Liv and what sort of fidelity issues does Arouse have, cause I cant stand cheating....and does this book depict bdsm?

deleted user The blurb for Arouse did give the impression that there was BDSM, but it's not that at all. ...more
