He looked at her in surprise. "How did you..." he trailed off before realising how stupid his question was. "Never mind."

He hesitated for just a split second before he roused suspicion. "Nothing big," he replied. "They just needed some... reassurance." Well, it wasn't thr truth, but neither was it a lie.

He held up his hands. "I didn't call you medusa, little one!" he accussed. "And I didn't even mention you in the sentence!"

He arched a brow, floding his own arms on his chest. "How so?" he asked. He couldn't be leaking so obviously, could he? He was still young, and such simple things shouldn't have a flaw.

"Maybe..." he teased. "I probably have a whole zoo of paranormal creatures behind the docks!" he exclaimed. "Plus, you'll never know, now would you?"

Arthur chuckled at her words, before arching a brow. There was a pause, just the dull creaks of wood and the bobbing of the ship. "I didn't claim you as a threat," he said finally.

He nodded. He wasn't so sure yet. She might be signalling to her clan to attack the ship right and then. But of course, he didn't let his body language speak. "Slept well?" he asked as he went over to his couch nearby.

He held his hand up to stop her midsentence. "No! It's okay! You can have the bed. I'll just lay down here..." he trailed off. "Where the cushions aren't blood-soaked," he muttered to himself inaudibly.

He scowled. "Damn I need to remember that mermaids can hear whispers." He watched her glance at her bandage. "How's the wound coming along? Is it swelling to warn us of an incoming zombie?"

"And then you guys turn into swimming fish-tailed zombies?" he asked with mock interest. "That'll be wicked!" he said with a tone of a child.

"Ah," he said as he leaned forward. "But that's where you're wrong, you see? Not if a virus controls your body. The brain will then probably be manipulated by the virus, hence creating zombies.

He relaxed back in his chair. "Would you want to leave soon?" he asked. He probably sounded as if she wasn't welcomed, but he needed to know. He yawned involuntarily as sleep tried to claim him.

He arched his brow. "They won't?" he asked dubiously. That was unnatural for some species who lives in a clan. Or do they? "Why won't they?" he asked instead.

"Oh..." he trailed off, at a lost for words. He needed to warn his crew. He needed them to get the hell out of there right then and there. He shot out of his chair and headed for the door.

He paused, before turning around and considering her. "Do you want to leave this ship? If you do, tell me RIGHT now, as we are sailing away from this area immediately.

"No time," he said urgently. "We're leaving now," he informed, putting emphasis on the last word on particular.

He arched a brow at her. "So you're staying on board with us?" he asked a little incredulously. He wasn't sure why she would consider that, but he wasn't complaining. Maybe she could even help with fishing...

He nodded, but leaving without another word. They needed to leave the area right there and then, before the mermaids start attacking the ship. Even that probably wasn't the worst case scenario.

((I WANNA MAKE A SMOKE BOMB!!!!!!!))
Arthur got up the deck and called for attention. It took them 10 full minutes to meet him for the announcement. "Men!" he barked. "I know we have yet to salvage much, but we are to leave now!" he ordered, putting an emphasis to his last word.

Eventually, after adjusting the clothes, she was wearing tight sand coulored pants with a white blouse. She slowly walked onto the dec, holding onto a lot of stuff.
