Good choice. Cusack was excellent in 1408, another King story.
Tod Williams is unknown to me as well.
Looking forward to seeing this.

Great choice! Can't think of a John Cusack film I'd didn't like.Tod Williams directed Paranormal Activity 2.
Cusack was brilliant in Identity.
SO pumped for this! I love John Cusack and I love King books! He was awesome in 1408 and can NOT wait to see him in this role!!
Esse wrote: "I've never read Cell. What do y'all think of the book?"I really loved Cell. I know a lot of people thought it slowed down too much after the intense beginnning; but personally I enjoyed where King took the story. It isn't his best work, but it is overall a fun read and I absolutely LOVE the ending! :)
Cell is a fun read. It gets kind of "out there" but hey that's OK. Cusack is always enjoyable to me, I even liked http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1486192/
I really enjoyed the book Cell and am excited for the movie. However, I'm not a big John Cusack fan. He's okay but I pictured someone a little more rough around the edges.
My self, I pictured someone a little more slight and effeminate in the role of Clay, but Cusack works for me...
I really think that Cell is my second favorite King book. And Cusack is my favorite actor, so I believe it'll be a great movie.

I remember when reading Cell, that I thought it would be an easy movie adaptation - or at least easier than a lot of other King stories.
Hadn't really thought of John Cusack in that regard, but considering it now, I actually think he's a great fit.
I don't really have any knowledge of Tod Williams, so won't comment on him as director.
Shooting starts in September, so hopefully we can see it in (summer?) 2014.
