Victor (_victorf) | 1 comments I really enjoyed the Threat Vector audiobook read by Lou Diamond Phillips, but I'm not sure I can wait for the next novel to be written (or co-written) by Mr. Clancy. Can anyone else that enjoyed this novel or audiobook please suggest a worthy and recent novel to try? I would especially like to know if the companion audiobook is good or not...

Samuel | 9 comments Brad Taylor's new Pike Logan series is a good place to start.
1) One Rough Man
2) All Necessary Force
3) Enemy Of Mine
4) The Widow's Strike (soon to be released this year)
Much better characters than Threat Vector and as a former Lieutenant Colonel in Delta Force, Taylor's books are just as well researched as Clancy's if not more so.

David Stokes (davidrstokes) | 1 comments I agree about Brad Taylor - his stuff is very good. I have interviewed him on the radio a few times.

I have not heard of Brad Taylor. I will look him up.

Dave | 3 comments I'm really liking Istanbul Passage by Joseph Kanon by Joseph Kanon.

Samuel | 9 comments Reading The Hunter (Victor the Assassin, #1) by Tom Wood It's about a CIA op to conduct a simple bit of industrial espionage, seen from the view of an independent contractor they hire to conduct the job and try to dispose of....along with the SIS and SVR.....unsuccessfully. It's properly morally ambiguous, surprisingly well researched and extremely good fun.

Roger Weston | 11 comments I noticed that Brad Thor recently released his first short story. Has anyone read it?
The Athens Solution A Short Story by Brad Thor

The Athens Solution A Short Story (Scott Harvath #14.5) by Brad Thor"

Just finished it. It's really short but very good. Read it over my lunch hour. I'm a fan of Mr. Thor and this is a quick example of how he writes.

Apparently it was something he released earlier with some other authors in an anthology of some sort but for this release he made some revisions to the story.

Roger Weston | 11 comments Interesting. I wonder what the revisions were. Also, I'm wondering what the bonus afterword was all about. He mentioned that in his email.

message 13: by Douglas (new)

Douglas Barrow (dabarrow) | 3 comments The bonus is just a couple chapters from Code of Conduct.

Roger Weston | 11 comments Thanks. I was wondering about that.
