Bess | 2584 comments While I've never heard of any of these, after reading the synopsis, I'd pick The Loveliest Chocolate Shop in Paris by Jenny Colgan ...sounds cute

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Finished my book: The Loveliest Chocolate Shop in Paris by Jenny Colgan

Pretty cute story, but it is general market, which I did not realize until I started reading it.

Have a couple of others I'm working on right now. Will come back when I need help choosing a new one.

What does "general market" mean?

message 109: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments By "general market" I mean it isn't Christian fiction.

Bess | 2584 comments Andrea wrote: "By "general market" I mean it isn't Christian fiction."

Oh, my apologies. I was unaware. :|

message 111: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments Not a problem. I'm a copyeditor, so I think of books as "Christian market" or "general market." What term would you use for a fiction book that isn't Christian?

Bess | 2584 comments Andrea wrote: "Not a problem. I'm a copyeditor, so I think of books as "Christian market" or "general market." What term would you use for a fiction book that isn't Christian?"

Umm...hmmm...secular? I don't know. :D Your term works fine for me, I am just not accustomed to it. What's next on your list? :D

message 113: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I had forgotten about secular. Another great term for it!

Next up on my list is A Heart Like His Intimate Reflections on the Life of David by Beth Moore . What about you?

message 114: by Bess (last edited Feb 05, 2016 09:26AM) (new)

Bess | 2584 comments I'm buddy reading with Melanie. We're reading (her much faster than me) Abandoned Memories (Escape to Paradise, #3) by MaryLu Tyndall

After that, I may ask for advice!!

message 115: by Andrea (new)

Andrea Cox (andreacox) | 4741 comments I've heard MaryLu is pretty good, but I haven't tried her yet. I should totally do that soon!

message 116: by Bess (last edited Feb 05, 2016 09:26AM) (new)

Bess | 2584 comments She's quickly become one of my top favorites...No, wait, she's already there!!
If you're new, may I suggest the The Red Siren (Charles Towne Belles #1) by M.L. Tyndall The Blue Enchantress (Charles Towne Belles Book 2) by M.L. Tyndall The Raven Saint (Charles Towne Belles Book 3) by M.L. Tyndall Charity's Cross (Charles Towne Belles, #4) by MaryLu Tyndall series. If you have a kindle, I can lend them to you. Beware, the first three are cliffhangers. : ) The fourth is brand new as of this month.

message 117: by Bess (new)

Bess | 2584 comments Okay, which book should I read next? (As I tap my chin with my index finger, I turn to Goodreads.com) They always have the answer! ;)

Tuck (King Raven, #3) by Stephen R. Lawhead , Charity's Cross (Charles Towne Belles, #4) by MaryLu Tyndall , or Let Them Eat Cake by Sandra Byrd . I know, two dark historical adventures and one modern romantic to choose from here. What can I say....*shrug.

message 118: by Caitlyn (new)

Caitlyn Santi | 811 comments Not sure if you're still waiting on an answer, Bess but if so then I pick Let Them Eat Cake by Sandra Byrd for you! I haven't read it but I have heard a lot of good things about it!

Help! I can't choose between these three books for my next read!
Like Never Before (Walker Family, #2) by Melissa Tagg Gift of Grace by Lynette Eason The Goodbye Bride (Summer Harbor #2) by Denise Hunter

Sooooo, I'm gonna kind of bend the guidelines a bit and ask someone to pick a book that I haven't read yet off of my July shelf (https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...). I'm not sure what to read next after my current reads. :/
