So sorry you're sick, KJ, but hope you feel better soon! Have you read Unforgivable and The Lady's Secret also by Joanna Chambers? They're both very enjoyable; I like how she writes books which are completely different from each other. PS - they're not m/m.

I love listening to audiobooks when I'm not feeling well, and just want to lie with my eyes shut. Try it!

Same here. Light and nice. But it does help to read the first two books in the series first, because this one was a lot about the relationship between the MCs which builds on what happened before.

I finally ordered The Lost Prince as print book. I'm desperately trying to save it for later this winter, because it's starting to look like there could maybe possibly hopefully perhaps be a beach holiday in sight. Not reading it right away is hard work, though. ;-)

And the book would be perfect for it. I find the Prince books a bit different, maybe not as intense as the others, or maybe just differently intense because the MCs are so young and have that...atmosphere about them. Anyways, maybe we can discuss it after you read it, that'd be fun :-)

Yesterday I've got an absolutely canon adherent Sherlock fanfic from one of the biggest Italian experts on Sherlock Holmes, a delightful person I've just met. I'm going to write a post about him.

He told me he got one m/m Sherlock fanfic, but didn't manage to go after the first pages because it was hardcore porn for him. I wonder what it would be for me...

I really like Joanna Chambers but I'm resisting reading Provoked until the rest of the trilogy is published and I can read them all at once! She is (or used to be) a lawyer in real life, by the way - I used to follow the blog she kept before she was a published author.

Good to know the story will be continued, I just have to apply some patience between the books, I guess. :)

I like the fact that lawyers can become good authors, shows we aren't all so uptight and dull as we are rumoured to be ;) ( I know many who aren't and several who are, by the way...)

ETA: I just checked her out, and stumbled upon her blogpost about The Parting Glass. And she described so very well my emotions on reading that story, especially that part that had her believe there wouldn't be an HEA for Tim and Luke. Which is exactly how I felt too, that the story had to end differently, and also the adult, mature way Tim dealt with that disappointment. Extremely well done storytelling.

It's The Bang and the Clatter by earlgreytea68 over at AO3.
I'm surprised how well it works. The character dynamics are all in place and it's well written. It's a bit long-ish but 'til now (I'm halfway through) it doesn't have lenghts. ;-)

Still reading Ancient Light, which, now that I've skimmed the entire middle, is starting to have some action toward the end. lol. I'm planning to have it finished, no matter what, by the end of my weekend on Monday night. No later. No can do.

I started reading Troublemaker the other day, so when it's not convenient for me to dig out a huge hardback book, or lug one around, I've been reading this. I'm afraid I really like this one, so much more than the second book, so far. I'm not wanting to put it down!

I stayed up late to finish Troublemaker. It's Fall Break at our school and we're off a whole week! (Then pay it back by working after Memorial Day.) Our older daughter (the marine biologist who lives on the Olympic Peninsula) is in town for the week. Spent some time this afternoon with both daughters. Tuesday the four of us head to southern New Mexico near the Gila Wilderness. Meanwhile, I'm reading and enjoying it quite a bit.

I just finished All The Colors Of Love by Jessica Freely. It was sort of a mixture of science fiction and comic book world with a very large dash of James Bond Evil Mastermind Lair.

It was rather dark, despite the cover blurb, and it is very unusual, but held me by the gut from start to finish. A really gripping read.

I'm kind of stuck now in rereads.... I read Love Lessons and Ethan in Gold... loved Love Lessons but not Ethan in Gold so much.... maybe because Dex in Blue is one of my all time favorite books.... it's my comfort read so maybe I had to much of expectations to Ethan in Gold. It isn't bad just not as good as I thought it would be.


So now I'm just rereading.... books I know are good.... so I'm not disappointed....;)

Sounds so lovely that you'll get to spend time with your daughters during the Fall Break, Karen. And I find it funny that New Mexico, USA and Oulu, Finland have the exact same Fall Break week. :) There is going to be some mother-daughter-time for me, too. I'll be spending some time with my mother. We are going to start the week shopping heathers and callunas on Monday. :)

I'm also really looking forward to do some reading and audio book listening. I've started to read The Man Everybody Was Afraid Of and it's wonderful to know that I'll have time to slowly savor it next week. I've hopelessly fallen in love with Joseph Hansen's writing.

Just started Hushed by Kelley York. This author's books are darkish and quirky and intrigue me greatly.

I finished Wallflower by Heidi Belleau. It's about Rob who is a geeky reclusive gamer who is more comfortable as Bobby his female game persona than as Rob, art student.

The story deals with his struggles to express his gender identity. Very good book!

Exhausting and awesome! I talked to so many really great people. Once I got over the deer in the headlights on Thursday, all was well.

Talked a lot with Aleks, and we had a lot to say to each other, it seemed.

Received many hugs from authors, made some new friends, and I had a great time. I EVEN stayed at the last party the entire time until 11 pm on Saturday. Some of the costumes were amazing. I'm not good in that area at all.
