We're living in a trans literature renaissance.
by Torrey Peters
https://www.oprahdaily.com/entertainm...
Talking about Torrey Peters: I've just read her Detransition, Baby and I liked it.

Type into your browser “greatest noir mystery novels” and you’ll gets lots of lists, but not one of them includes a work by Joseph Hansen. That’s inexcusable. Joseph Hansen is not only one of America’s best mystery writers, he is a great American writer. Period. Full stop. In a better world, one liberated from its idiotic prejudices, he would be recognized as such. The republication of the Brandstetter novels by Syndicate Books is a hopeful sign that this marvelous writer will, at last, find the place he deserves in the pantheon of American literature.

I loved as well

Thank you for reminding me of the imminent release of book 2!

Just finished it last night. :)

Thank you for the reminder! I've just bought it through Alexis's homepage:

Ginn Hale's Master of Restless Shadows: Book Two is coming out on March 1st!
https://www.amazon.com/Master-Restles...
I've only read the first two in the series. I was waiting for the last book to come out to do a reread of those two and then to read all the others. Would anyone want to tackle this with me this year as a BOM? We could just do the first book, or we could treat it like a challenge and read the whole series within the year. Thoughts?

Loved it. I know what you mean.

White Trash Warlock series, by David Slayton, you will definitely like this series too.

I'm waiting as well for it, but we have time to reread the first two books: The Hourglass Throne Expected publication: May 17th 2022
Definitely not a tarot card, but I’m sure it’s relevant some how. Lol. The first two were major arcana cards, so this will likely be related to one. Maybe The Wheel of Fortune or The World. Since we didn’t start with The Fool, presumably The World can fit in anywhere. But I’m really just guessing.

I think it's the hermit. For some reason there are several names for the thrones and houses and lords/ladies, like Lord Tower holds the Dagger throne, if I remember correctly.
And, yes, looking very much forward to the next book in the series!
Did you guys read the free stories? http://kd-edwards.com/extra-content/

The K.D. Edwards website appears to be down. I had "The Sunken Mall" and "Tales From Quarantine," but could only access "Scenes From the Holidays" via a search for his Twitter postings. I found three stories from Holidays. Were there more?

Weird. I checked the page when I posted the link and now it's down. I hope it's nothing permanent.
Only recently I found The Great Atlantean Battle Royalchemy there with four parts and still ongoing.

BTW I can't find it in GR, someone should add it, if it is not there.

And thanks Calathea for mentioning this: I hadn't read all the stories.

He posted that he was moving to a new website so it would be down sometimes for a few days.

Thank you. I didn't know about book 9 of More Heat than the Sun series. I've got the others on paper, but probably I'll buy this as ebook, because I dislike to have a mismatched series. I know I'm fussy ;-).

I bought the new A.J. Demas book and Ben Aaronovitch's audiobook (love Kobna Holdbrook-Smith's voicing) last week. Thanks for the heads-up on S.E. Harmon's 4th Spookology book. I loved the first three and just grabbed it.
I'm on a paranormal kick with two books from a series that had good ideas, with not as good execution. And I'm about 70% through Jordan L. Hawk's new ghost story — The Forgotten Dead. Not my favorite of her books, but one I'll follow if it becomes a series.

Ariana Nash's Shadows of London series, starting with Twisted Pretty Things. I'm on the second book of four — a well-written urban fantasy alt-reality series with some interesting takes on magic, magic wielders, and cultivated prejudices.

Ooohhh, thank you!
I'm feeling very dated in M/M Romance. I can't keep up with all the new stuff that's coming out, especially since it's mostly self-published these days. I'm working to update my reading guides this week and I mostly have a lot of classic stuff on the lists. Which is not bad, but finding new stuff is hard.
I did find this website that has reviews and also recent release lists: https://www.mmbookwormreviews.com/rev... and it's scary how many of these authors I've never heard of. Are they any good? It's a pain to click on every link just to find out. lol. Anyway, maybe this will be of some use to others here too.
ETA: I was initially just looking for new release lists. Stumbled on the reviews today and I can't say they are well written/professional. They are also all written by one person. I'd thought a review site would have multiple reviewers, but not here it seems. Ah well.
