I haven't read them yet; I assume the series starts here (Season One, Episode One appearing to be a good bet, anyway).It doesn't seem to be listed on Cole McCade's Goodreads page, for some reason.
Yeah, thats the first one (the only one out yet). He has a plan to bring them out monthly :) looks like its going to be a slow burn.

I just finished all 7 books of the Tayak and Frayne series by Harper Fox, in audio. I feel the biggest book hangover coming on.
I finished K.D. Edwards' The Last Sun today and it is stunning. I absolutely loved it and it's one of my favourite things I've read this year. It's a non-stop exciting urban fantasy with magic queers. The characters are marvellous and so engaging. The world is amazing and it's all based around a Tarot deck--the ruling houses, and their leaders, are the major arcana and so on. It's not really a romance, but there's a little something developing in the background that is becoming important. This is smart, fast-paced, funny, gripping, moving, and ridiculously entertaining. You bet I pre-ordered the sequel right away (which comes out in January!). Can't wait! Check it out if that sounds like fun.
I also liked the Last Sun. Fast moving, likable MC, and generally a gradual reveal of his history and his world. Pretty well done for a first book. I will mention that there is gradual reveal of a harsh sexual assault of a minor, years ago, which impacts the story (including flashbacks). However, this and the complexity of the MC's relationships are added layers that make the book not your typical intro fantasy. The rape flashback scene is, fortunately, pretty brief and could definitely be skipped if necessary.

I find myself when starting a new book on audio I always rewind the first few pages, feeling lost and trying to figure out whats what. is it just me?

I have been reading Night Drop series and how good are they? What is kind of horrifying though is that this is historical stories, yet they only happen in the 90's and feature video rental store. Something that young people today have no idea what is even. Somehow I have reached the age where I have become a historical creature.
The Pinx Video series are good mysteries very much set in their times (gay mc not romance). Was reading another series set in the 80s where someone uses their cell phone to send an email in an emergency situation....took him twelve steps to get it written, saved, transferred, open in another program and sent. History.
In the 80's?!I didn't own a cell phone until after 2000! And had dial up modem for my computer until about the same time.
Well, I may be inaccurate about the actual year the book was placed in...the oddly comic use of early computers and cell phones.I just finished reading Salt Magic Skin Magic by Lee Welch...an historical fantasy set in England, mm romance.

Started reading:- Sarah Black's War Paint. This is my first Sarah Black story, and I really like it. Good to know there's a backlist.
- And a comic thriller (found when i was looking for fun mysteries): A Man With One of Those Faces. Very good so far.
I read Salt Magic, Skin Magic by Lee Welch the other day and it's excellent. It's a wonderful queer historical fantasy romance with a few creepy bits, a lovely romance, a truly delightful magic system, and a cracker of an ending. There are some good surprises in this one and completely charming secondary characters who are inanimate objects (you'll just have to read it to find out what that means and why it's awesome). This is a new author (from New Zealand!) and I am excited to see what else they come up with. I loved this.

I started Gyrfalcon by Anna Butler about two weeks ago.....and then I couldn't come up for air until I finished the entire series. Now I am suffering from major book hangover. Planning on Unfit to Print next, but, yeah, book hangover....I keep going back to reread my favorite bits of the series.
Oh, I did sneak in Merlin in the Library last night, the short story from His Quiet Agent. So sweet,

I just finished The Taking Shield series today. I am blown away, it is a long time since I read a book as intense as the last. An amazing series.

I really liked the Caimh Mcdonell series that starts with A Man With One of Those Faces. Very Irish humor, good mystery, m/f, really great characters. Led me to the The Perpetual Astonishment of Jonathon Fairfax which is British political mystery, but also a humorous book with Douglas Adams' style. The author acknowledges that Douglas Adams helped him understand that the universe is just not logical...so don't panic if it doesn't make sense.

Yeah! That's the way, Haldis! Glad you enjoyed it as well, Anne. And good on you two for waiting until the series was done--I had to wait for each book to come out and that was bloody hard. It's one of my favourites and I'm excited to re-read it straight through now. Good luck with the book hangover.

I’ve been devouring the Jamie Brodie Mystery series by Meg Perry. I love the characters and the world she’s created. I’m not sure if they’d be considered ‘cozy mysteries’ but as far as I’m concerned, they are!

I also read Balefire. Jordan L. Hawk continues to keep this series going strong with its ninth book, engaging, suspenseful, and endearing. Book ten will end the series.

Re-reading Looking for Group by Alexis Hall.
I bought the paper book recently and enjoy it immensly (also the feeling of a real book in my hands... has been some time). I think it's my third re-read now and like always it makes me want to sit down at the computer and pick up a MMO RPG.

It's a lovely book. I've been reading a lot of paper books lately, because my local library is awesome. I agree it's a nice feeling after lots of ebooks.

Anyway, this book is engrossing and fascinating!
Just finished Louis Bayard's The School of Night (general fiction).Thank you, Josh, for initially recommending Louis Bayard's Fool's Errand (gay romance-ish). Loved that book!
And then I followed that with Lucky Strikes (general fiction), which was such a good book as well. Highly recommended!
Anyway, after The School of Night, I decided to try his historical mysteries as well. So next it's Mr. Timothy.
I loved Amberlough by Lara Elena Donnelly. It's an exciting queer spy thriller fantasy taking place in the Weimar-esque fantasy city of Amberlough. There is a cabaret and fascism is on the rise. There is a lovely romance quietly taking place behind the spying and double-crossing. I got this from the library and ordered the sequel straight away and hopefully I can get it today! Have a look if this sounds like fun.

Glad you liked it, KC. I absolutely adore this book. Delightful is the right word. It's her first queer romance, but her het romances are among my favourites because they, too, are delightful and funny and poignant.
