I'm at the beginning still, but enjoy it so much, great humour and characterisation. And since I have always wanted to read Kate's story, I'm fond of AJ. already. Not that she is Kate, mind you, but if you read the story you will see what I mean.

Cool! I have to say also I felt quite nervous when approaching Diana Killian books the first time. Of course, I should have known better by now... I would not have needed to be worried. :-)

I can't say I was worried, more like excited, there is this unmistakeable wit and wisdom in the book, that I really was hoping I would find.
I also was a bit worried... or nervous.... honestly because of Jake the cop and the English mother. But.... I really shouldn't have.... :)

Hi, folks. It's been awhile. I bought the first 2 seasons of Hannibal so I could dig them all over again. The 3rd season finale was fantastic. This show offers the best m/m romance on TV, IMHO. (I could say "bromance" but that would be cutting it pretty fine.)I still read, almost exclusively, m/m fiction. I'm always eager for new m/m audible.
On that, one of the most terrific--truly funny, sexy, moving, WELL written--books I've read in the last year or so was A SHINY TIN STAR by JON WILSON. When it went to audible I was ecstatic--and the narrator was horrible. I cannot overstate it; take a genuinely, wonderfully funny book and so badly overcook the reading that the humour was entirely lost. That's a terrible thing to do to an unusually good book and to its author.
RE GUARDIANS OF THE HAUNTED MOOR; I have to agree that I'll read anything by Harper Fox, and I've certainly never had cause to regret it. I'm just surprised that I haven't from the series' first book, enjoyed Tyack and Frayne more. I don't eagerly anticipate each new book as I generally do a Harper Fox story.Somehow she hasn't managed to make me live and die with their fates as she has done with other books and their mc's. I don't understand it.
RE m/m AUDIOBOOKS: If you enjoy a book, PLEASE request it at audible. It's easy. Email to content-request@audible.com and list the book and author you want.KIM FIELDING, who wrote BRUTE (which, btw, has a wonderful audio version available at Audible) also wrote a terrific 3-book series that starts with STASIS. Audible gave us STASIS but nothing after. I fear this is either because not enough have purchased or not enough have requested the rest.
Please, guys, if you enjoy the audio version of your favorite m/m books, let Audible know. There aren't enough of us out there to assure our interests are provided for if we don't make a noise.
I am reading Corpse Pose by Diana Killian. Goodreads app won't let me link. I'm 10%in and so far it's good.

If you loved the book and hated the narrative, I as a potential buyer would like to know why.

To Love a Traitor, a historical situated after WWI. The plot was a bit predictable, but I enjoyed the writing and the characters very much.
Now I blunder, I started Jordan L. Hawk's second book in the Spirits series, but could not get into it. Maybe I will read Lear's second installment in the Dan Stagg series instead.

Seeing how many of the Petit Morts I can make it through before my copy of Corpse Pose arrives tomorrow.
Read Kim Fielding's short story Alaska, which was very good, poignant, heartwarming.Now hoping to find the time to continue JL Merrow's To Love a Traitor - what a lovely surprise this book is!
Also started Ginn Hale's story in Charmed and Dangerous: Ten Tales of Gay Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy.

I started Corpse Pose yesterday. And two chapters in I'm already hooked and loving it. I'm debating what to do now. Do I return the library copy and buy my own and read that, or just finish what I've got? lol. Either way, I do need to buy a copy. Well, the whole series, really. :-)

I've read many excellent things over the last few weeks. There have also been several duds, but, thankfully, the very good far outweighs the disappointing. Here are some things I have particularly enjoyed:Lord Heliodor's Retirement by Amy Ray Durreson was really wonderful. I absolutely loved it (like everything of hers that I have read!). It's always great seeing more mature romance protagonists.
One Perfect Night by Lisa Henry is a gorgeous Australian WWII short story. It's a beautifully emotional piece and was quite affecting. I do love a well-crafted short story.
Finally decided to dip my toe into In the Company of Shadows and read Evenfall: Volume 1: Director's Cut. It's wonderfully dark and I loved it and I'm keen for the next part. Waiting for the new edited versions could well be my undoing.
KJ Charles' Jackdaw was extremely well done and totally enjoyable. Redemption of villains is a tricky business. I love the Magpies world and seeing Stephen and Lucien from the other side was a great bonus.
Megan Erickson's coming of age story, Trust the Focus, was beautiful. It really got to me.

Oh, and I finished this one yesterday and it is indeed a lovely, lovely surprise. Such wonderful characters and the tone is just right. I really enjoyed it. I am super keen on historicals, so I love it when a good contemporary author goes that direction. Hopefully there will be more. :)

I'll try Jackdaw. I was a bit disappointed with Magpie 3, though I loved the first two, and the character that is the MC in Jackdaw, well, yes, not very nice, but you say there's redeeming of villains. That sounds intriguing. :-)
Trust the Focus has been waiting on my kindle for a while...
But must finish reading the lovely JL Merrow book first; i read half two weekends ago and haven't had time to get back to it properly. And it's one of those books I want to read when i can give it my full attention.

Very atmospheric, a magical Victorian roadmovie with lots of Cornwall in it :-)

Suddenly feeling the need to read some writing books. Must be the change to Autumn, which signifies the approach of NaNoWriMo. Currently reading the short but very useful Write Your Novel From the Middle: A New Approach for Plotters, Pantsers and Everyone in Between by James Scott Bell. It's already been useful in helping me with plotting the one I intend to write for NaNo.

I want to mention two very good books I've been enjoying these last days, My Cowboy Promises by ZA Maxfield andRattlesnake by Kim Fielding. Solid writing, lovable characters, terrific storytelling. Highly recommended. Some people might find them slow, but I love books that take their time with developing the characters, describing the setting so you feel you're there with them, rooting for them even when they do stupid things you disagree with. Just like with live people you care for. :)

I've enjoyed ZAM's other books in the cowboy series a bit more, but My Cowboy Promises was very good as well.

I started Guardians Of The Haunted Moor based on some comments here, but had to dnf it 10 pages in. It was all about babies. >.<

Like an idiot, I had purchased the Audiobook, and forgot I had it, and then purchased the ebook. The audio is excellent.

Wonderfully written and wonderfully read: Young man, Decker, is homeless in Amsterdam. We don't know why. He and his dog, Calvin, are living out of his car. Sleeping of an afternoon in the park, Calvin is trying very hard to get Decker to wake up. His usual method is to drop the tennis ball on Decker's head. Something conks Decker in the noggin; but it's not a tennis ball.
The m/c's voice, the psycho's voice and Calvin's voice tell the story respectively, and it works beautifully. Calvin's voice in particular is perfect, all dog, hilarious, powerfully winning. This book is fun, unput-downalble, and could not have been better narrated.
The mc is gay; there's no romance and I promise, you won't care. You will want to pick him up and shake him for the unbelievable decisions he makes; but this kids voice is so likable and regular that you don't realize for some while that he has, since his lover's death, been wandering through his days in a fairly total remove. Nevertheless, you will love him, love his dog. GET THE AUDIBLE!
Josh, I'm so glad you decided to release Murder in Pastel. I enjoyed it; I liked indulging in a little vintage Lanyon.
I am reading Dial Om for Murder by Diana Killian. I like the characters. Getting worried about Alex, the ex.
I'm on the third yoga mystery, Murder on the Eightfold Path. Love the series.I also want to read Nick and Adam's story from their point of view. Wonder if Josh is willing to collab with Diana? ;)

I read Corpse Pose last Sunday. Excellent. Was a bit nervous but loved the mystery and the plot and the characters were funny as hell. Very charming story.
