I can guarantee you this, the stories in Comfort and Joy are both comforting and joyful. ;-) I'm really happy with the way the anthology came out. I think it is exactly what a holiday anthology should be.

This is the time of year when I read strictly vintage mystery. I have no appetite for angst or sadness now. I don't mind a little festive yuletide murder, but I don't want anything gritty or painful.

lol, and what am I reading right now? Complete angst and gritty, painful stories. Ah well. Can't help myself. That'll all change soon enough. :-)

I just finished reading the last Administration novel, and just started the final Admin short story. :-D

I also bought Rare, as an audio because after finishing the first one, I couldn't not get into the second one, even though the narrator does some minor things that annoy me.

Finally finished a YA book I'd started in October just now. Finally. I'm glad. Lol. I like the author's previous works, but this one just didn't do it for me.

Now, I'm trying to determine which monthly book group book I should read next. C&J or Born of Illusion by Teri Brown (YA)? Hmmmm... Such choices!

I've just been re-reading His For The Holidays, another wonderful Christmas anthology. Every story is really good, from Josh's Icecapade, to LB's Mistletoe at Midnight, Harper's Nine Lights Over Edinburgh and ZAM's I Heard Him Exclaim.

I am reading JCP's The Persistence of Memory I found it really hard to get into it. I am about 75 percent in and only just beginning to understand. I also read The Web which is the graphic novel version of the book by Jonathan Kellerman. It isn't bad and it made me think that I would love to see some of Josh's mysteries in graphic novel format.

I had to laugh when you gave the list of books in this anthology. I should have simply bought the entire thing in the first place, since I've now purchased all the stories separately. My excuse is it was when I first got into m/m romance (though I've been reading fanfiction slash for years), and Josh was the first author I had read. So I bought Icecapade--one of my favorites.

Then I bought Mistletoe at Midnight, then I bought ZAM's, and this year I finally realized how much I've loved other Harper Fox stories and FINALLY bought Nine Lights Over Edinburgh. I haven't read the last one yet, but I've reread all the others over the years, several times. All are wonderful holiday stories. It just took me until now to realize they were all in the same anthology collection.

Probably me! I really like his writing, but just cannot get on with any paranormal or even steampunk in my reading, so I've been waiting for him to write a more "normal" book. I've already pre-ordered this one!

Oh dear! Have a look at Josh's other anthologies. They're all really worth getting because there's never a weak story in them. I assume that's because he can choose his co-authors, and he does choose well!

I was so going to mention this earlier today, but I was so busy I never got to visit GR!

Anyway, quick run down, I'm planning on a mini month-long reread challenge in January, and I thought I'd mention it in case anyone else wanted to do it to. I've picked about ten books that I most want to reread, though I know I can't get through them all.

When I get a moment on a real computer I'll make a shelf or at least list them in my currently reading shelf. If you join me, you'd just pick your own books to reread. Two of mine are Sherlock's so they dovetail nicely with the Sherlock challenge I'm already doing!

Oh, someone else who does this!! I have a couple of books which I still haven't read because the series to which they belong are packed away and I haven't found them yet. (This is when ebooks come into their own!)

Now that I'm on a real computer, I'll link my titles. Though it's more than ten, I kind of counted trilogies as one book, even though I shouldn't have. lol.

Okay, I finished Bone Rider and I give it five stars. It hit just the right spot for me and I couldn't put it down. Reminded me of those good old-fashioned summer blockbusters, like The Terminator meets Alien meets Heat.

Sus, that's a great idea if you haven't ready ANY of them! They're a good number of my absolute favorites!

I'm thinking of adding the audio of The Hobbit to that list as well. I rewatched the first movie on Friday night. Tonight will be movie 2, and next Saturday will be the 3rd in the theater. I'd like to be able to compare them to the book once I've seen all the movies. It's been so long since I've read the book, I need a refresher course!

I enjoyed Bone Rider, too. It was "different" in a good way.

I overdosed a bit on holiday stories, and now I'm finally in the mood to read Prosperity. I am enjoying it so far. Alexis Hall certainly has a way with words. I'm glad I picked up There Will Be Phlogiston.

As for Christmas reads, Candy Man was really sweet, non-angsty Amy Lane. Snow Globe, Dust of Snow, and It's Christmas Everywhere But Here were pretty good. And Mine Under the Mistletoe and Her Holiday Man were nice m/f Christmas stories.

I'm currently reading Born of Illusion for my teen BOM at the library, due this week. After that, I'll be reading Annabel for my Transgender GR group BOM. And after that a few Dean Koontz books. With luck, I'll finish it all by the end of the month. *crosses fingers* Poor Dean Koontz has been on my currently reading list for months now. Time to do something about that!

I just finished Nine Lights Over Edinburgh and I really liked it. Not quite what one thinks of as a "holiday" story, but I enjoyed the suspense plot and the depth of the characters.

I thought it was a pretty good standalone. The only thing I wanted more of at the end was for Young to have more remorse and regret over his actions. (I also kinda wanted to see his discovery of Misha and crew being the "models" who took him down! :) I definitely want to see more from this author though! One other book is not enough.
