message 251: by Jodi (new)

Jodi (readinbooks) I am catching up to my goal. At the start of the summer I was 14 books behind my goal. Now I am only 6 books behind. By the end of summer it would be great if I could be a bit ahead.

message 252: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) I have read 30 out of my 50 book goal (:

That puts me 4 books ahead! :D

message 253: by Brit (new)

Brit (britmeup) I've read 32 out of my 50, which puts me ahead by 6. Which is nice cause now that I'm working lots I'm getting less time to read.

Everyone who has a goal of a 100 or more is just awesome.
I like to think I could get there, but realistically going to stick with my 80 for now. I am about to hit number 40. =)

message 256: by N (new)

N | 276 comments I changed mine - was set at 50 and I've read 70+ ;) pushed it to 100 but may need to change again.

message 257: by Vanessa (new)

Vanessa | 41 comments My goal is set to 50 books this year and so far I'm six books behind schedule. I'm hoping I'll be a few books ahead by the end of the summer because once classes start up again I will have virtually no time to read.

message 258: by Esther (new)

Esther I've also joined the 50 book Challenge and so far I've read 49 books. The fiftieth is Perks of Being a Wallflower and I'm liking it so far. My favourite book this year was definitely Everything is illuminated. It might even be the best book I've read so far.

message 259: by Alma (new)

Alma (journeythroughfiction) I've read 60/100 so far, which is 7 ahead of schedule. I originally set 75 for the year, then changed to 100. I don't really have one stand out favourite book at the minute, but some I have loved are Sins & Needles and the Experiment in Terror series, both by Karina Halle, Magic Study by Maria V. Snyder and one I have just finished reading, Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma.

Wow, Forbidden. Heavy isn't it. That was a hard one to read.

Oh yeah, definitely hard to read and very emotionally draining. That ending will haunt me for quite a while I think.

message 262: by Yesenia (new)

Yesenia Maqueda (annechase) | 140 comments I am now to my 73 book out of 100. I can't wait to finish my goal!

message 263: by Erin (new)

Erin (beanandabook) I have accepted the challenge, but started myself off at 20. I joined the challenge in June and am only counting the books I have read since then, bc honestly I can't keep track of all the books I have read previously. Since I accepted the challenge I have read 8 books (technically 3 books behind) but at the rate I'm going, I should be fine and hopefully will up the challenge!

I am in the middle of 3 books...
City of Ashes
The Girl who kicked the hornets nest.
Deadlocked

Last year i almost made it to 100 this year i am aiming higher

message 265: by Monique (new)

Monique (beamerandi) | 21 comments I originally set mine to 25 but I already read more than that so I upped it to 50 :). Maybe if my class isn't so hectic, i'll try to make it to 60 :P I definitely enjoy reading and am so happy that I'm challenging myself to read as much books as I can. College is definitely hectic and since it already started last month, it's a bit harder to find time

message 266: by Santino (new)

Santino (tinoprinzi) I'm currently on book 52 of 80. I am tempted to put it up to 100, but I start university this year so I don't know yet if I will.

message 267: by DarkBookAngel (new)

DarkBookAngel (chaoticuniverse) | 8 comments I am currently at 62 books of 100 which makes me 7 books ahead. I am off school at the moment and plan on going on vacation soon so I am trying to get some reading relaxing done now :). I usually read about 50 a year give or take so this is making me push my limits I hope I succeed.

message 268: by Cora (new)

Cora Tea Party Princess (corazie) | 36 comments I've read 96 books, only 4 more to go until I complete it again!

Already upped it from 50. Will I manage 150 if I up it again?

message 269: by Vickie (new)

Vickie (daffyrocks) | 3 comments My goal is 32 books, I'm right on schedule and will probably change it . Next year ill definitely have more time and will set my goal higher...:D

message 273: by Jodi (new)

Jodi (readinbooks) At the beginning of summer, I was 14 books behind my goal. Now I am fully caught up. I hope to be quite a big ahead of my goal once September starts because I just can't read as much while working.

message 274: by Claudia (new)

Claudia (shytowne) | 7 comments I set my goal to 100 books and I'm currently at 94, deciding how much I should increase my book goal once again.

message 279: by Katie.g (new)

Katie.g | 129 comments Ahh so behind. Did start the reading challenge in May though. 16 out of 44. 9 books behind!

Better get cracking lol.

message 280: by Saraaa (new)

Saraaa (iamsarahgee) | 76 comments My goal is 100. I'm only halfway because I didn't include the books I've re-read. And also, I've stopped for while because I have to review for a licensure exam, but they've postponed it. So I'm back to reading. I'm already 6 books behind.

message 281: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) My goal is 50! I have read 39 and am 11 books ahead of schedule!

message 282: by Ebony (new)

Ebony Yay! I'm almost done with book number 13!!! Lol I'm never going to reach my goal. :D

message 283: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer Brown | 1 comments I set my goal at 40 books, so far I've read 19-only 3 books behind schedule which isn't too bad! Its winter in Australia so hopefully spend a bit more time cuddle up by the fire with some good books!

Some of my highlights so far this year are:
1)44 SCotland Street, Alexander McCall Smith - originally being from Scotland and not far from EDinburgh made this book a real terat for me - cant wait to read more in the series
2)The Emperors Edge, Lindsay Buroker - This was a move into a different genre for me - never even heard of "steampunk" before but so glad I stumbled across this series! Currently reading the second book and lots more to follow so looking forward to seeing what happens.

Not so good (In my opinion!)
1)Inferno, Dan Brown - I'm not even sure why I read this, having enjoyed Da Vinci code and Angels and Demons I felt his books went downhill from there and the Lost Symbol was particularly disappointing. Having said that, this one was even worse and safe to say, anything else he brings out will not be on my list!
2)The Casual Vacancy, J.K.Rowling - I wanted to like this book but just couldnt find any of the characters likeable at all, luckily it was quite an easy book to read so didn't take long to finish it and can now be crossed off the list!

message 284: by Arwen (new)

Arwen I have reached 91/100!!

message 285: by Maggie (new)

Maggie I have just finished book 59 of my goal of 75.I'm 16 books ahead of schedule :)

message 286: by Lynsey (new)

Lynsey Patricia wrote: "I set my to 100, and although I know I'm not on pace to succeed, my life is already way better because of it. There are so many good books out there!"

I love your attitude. Your comment was lovely; it made my day.

message 287: by Lynsey (new)

Lynsey I'm currently at eight, I believe, out of my goal of 30 or 35. I started in late May and I go back to university in September. I feel I'm doing well and I'm glad reading has, once again, become constant in my life.
Also, I've read two Game of Throne books in those eight - they should count for more. NOT just because the sheer volume of pages, but because I don't particularly like his writing style. At all.
I kind of hate it. The things you'll do for your special someone!

message 288: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 47 comments My goal is to read 52 books this year (one a week). I'm a book ahead, so I'm happy with that progress. :)

message 289: by [deleted user] (new)

I am in. I plan on reading about 50.

message 290: by Chrystal (new)

Chrystal (chrystal0830) I am a little behind my goal of 30 but i still feel good that I am reading regularly again. There are so many books I want to read!!! Hopefully I'll catch up this winter when I can sit in my little reading chair under a cozy blanket with yet another great book :)

message 291: by Ebony (new)

Ebony Just came back from a missions trip! I better get on the ball if I'm gonna meet my goal!

Andreea I challenged myself to read 100 books this year, but i'm a little behind. Hopefully i'll have some free time to catch up.

message 294: by [deleted user] (new)

My goal of the year is to read 100 books. I got a late start - I only started reading again about three months into the year, so I am a little behind, but making steady progress. Yay! :)

message 298: by Jacquelyn (new)

Jacquelyn (jacquelynreads) My goal is 50 and I have read 43! :D Hopefully I keep up this wonderful pace I have going!

message 299: by Claire (new)

Claire (bookworm_29) New to the group and thought a good first post would be to say yes I am attempting the challenge. Currently 1 book ahead schedule - aim to read 35, which will be slightly more than last year. Technically I should have far more time to complete even more books this year, but glad I didn't aim too high!

message 300: by Amber (new)

Amber (princess1976) | 6 comments I set my goal to 25 and am currently 5 books behind, having only read 10, but we've had a very busy few months, so hoping to get back on track now that things have slowed down a bit and kids are heading back to school soon.
