Amazon seem to like setting the price to what they want it to be.This issue has been discussed on various forums.
Oh. So what can I do? The UK price is fine, £0.77, but I want the US one to be $0.99. Any advice?
Um, not really.Some of my books suffer with it as well.
The price will be 99c to those in the US. If you're looking at it from outside the US, tax will be added to the price you see. Hope that helps.
Thanks Shaun. I'll ask a friend that lives in the US to check the price for me then, to make sure. How can I get a link to Amazon US that has the 0.99 on it? Say, if I wanted to paste the link on twitter or facebook or wherever?
If that person lives in the US, they will see the correct price, 99c so the link doesn't matter. It's only those who look at Amazon.com from outside the country that see a higher price, because ebooks are taxed.

I have a work around to see how much a book is on sale for in US. Go to a forum and click on reply and go to put a book in as a product and it will give the price.Deceptive Comfort by Sara Boyd

The other way to do it is to either go to amazon.com and log out of your account (then it won't now you have a UK based account) or to visit the site using an inPrivate or Incognito tab on your browser.
When I do that, DC is $1.18 & NEM is $1.52. How confusing.

When I tested it and DC's price came up, I thought it must be because my browser (google chrome) knows I'm in UK, so added the tax. But when NEM was a cent cheaper I lost a few brain cells pondering who or what went wrong.
Oh jeez. The last thing the group needs is a loss of brain cells.
I tried with chrome, I signed out of my amazon account, I even cleared the browsing history and used the ccleaner and nothing. The funny thing is, for NEM I do have the link with the correct US price, it's just for DC I can't get one without the added tax. Will explore further...
