I think this book was AMAZING. Colton when he is 3 dies during surgery and then comes back. His operation is only 90 minutes. But in that time he meets his sister who he never met, who died in a miscarriage. He meets his great grampa paps who died long before Colton was even born and no one talked about him. And he sat on Jesus' lap. No dream here, just a crazy story. This all came from a pastors son. Out of a four year olds mouth. I think this is all real. And the facts that came out of Coltons mouth were exactly how the bible described Heaven. Heaven is for real and we will live in eternity in the same place Colton told us about.

I thought the book was wonderful. Like an after school special made for kids - the problem was I don't think the Book was truthful or Biblical.

God gave us the Bible. It seems most modern Christians would rather get excited over this dribble than God's Word.
Most false religions were started by people with visions and guest appearances by Jesus and Angels (go check for yourself...I did!). God gave some of us a gift called: Discernment.

Galatians 1:8
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse!

Did the apostle Paul go on about his visits to Heaven? No, then maybe neither should the Burpo's. The Bible is enough.

I read this verse this morning: No mere man has ever seen, heard or even imagined what wonderful things God has ready for those who love the Lord. 1 Cor. 2:9. We will never know for sure till we get there:)

Movie coming out soon. It was a good and fast read.

I thought it was a great read. I am a Christian and I believe in heaven, so I found it fascinating to hear the details of an afterlife. In spite of whether or not Colton did die or not, the fact that he was able to recount so many details ~ fascinating!

I find these types of books confusing. It says in the New Testament of the Bible that "man is appointed but once to die". Does that mean they really didn't have the experience? It seems that something must have happened. Perhaps when people have these heavenly experiences and come back, they haven't actually "died", by virtue of the fact that they didn't "stay dead"? Confusing.

Well Jesus said this: "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father". John 14:12

God is limitless in His manifestation in our lives; as He moves in and through each and everyone of us for His glory. And Paul gave account of that manifestation of God in his life during his time. " Heaven is For Real", does just that, for out time . The Letter of God is Living and evoloving and never changing. If we truly read Gods word we see that.

I wish the story was told by Colton more instead of his dad. It would have seemed more personable. Colton is the one who should describe his own experience; not dad. Yes, dad & mom had their own experiences to deal with on earth; but the book is about describing Heaven.

loved it cant wait til i see heaven for myself

I thought the book was badly done, they drug out a story thought could have been told in about four paragraphs. It also wasn't believable in my opinion.

It is a good story, though several people seemed to have skipped over the fact that Colton never actually died. I noticed a post by someone earlier who said that they thought this was a good story and nothing more. I would encourage you not to just believe or ever NOT believe blindly. Instead, investigate the matter further. There is scientific and archeological evidence that the Bible is true. Try visiting Answers in Genesis's website. You might be surprised.

I'm a Christian and I certainly believe in Heaven. And I very much wanted to fall in love with this book but I didn't. I felt like the child was being prodded and I just don't believe it's true. Maybe it is. In fact I HOPE that it is, but personally I just can't believe this particular story.

It was eh. I feel that the Dad is trying to profit off of this. If it was a miracle that's a blessing but keep it to yourselves. My Mom passed away giving birth to me and came back and had similar experiences minus the going to heaven part so it is possible. My only issue is how The Burpos are promoting this with a childrens version of the book and a movie. It just feels like they are doing too much.

Just because someone has a negative opinion about this book does not mean they are a hater or are being judgemental.

I'm torn. Honestly, I didn't feel the book was that well written, but the story was uplifting. Whether it is true or not, who knows? Worst case scenario there are some new believers after reading this. My faith was already secure before I picked itup.

I loved this book. It is absolutely beautiful!
It was interesting to read, as I am not Catholic/religious in any form, but I am not an Atheist. I do believe in the man upstairs, and it really made me comfortable with where I stand regarding my beliefs :)
A fun read no matter your religion! I highly suggest it

The book was great. Just not amazing. From the easy descriptions given by Colton it's simple to picture heaven and Jesus and everyone up there. The pictures in the book that I read were good, and I love the message. I like how they go back and forth from present to past so at the same time you're learning what happened then and then you're learning what he's saying about it in the present. The writing was kind of hard but I overlooked that because I needed to read Colton's story. He's an amazing child and I'll never forget his book.

I thought it was really cute. Apparently, when kids go to heaven, they get to see swords and lions and things. If I had an NDE, I'd probably see a good steak up in heaven.

I was a little discouraged at how Colton's father approved of Colton's apprehensiveness about whether newly-dead people were accepted into heaven or not ... no young child needs that kind of gut-wrenching theology.

I was glad to see that someone agrees with me. I thought it exceptionally well told and absolutely amazing. It kept me interested until the very end. I'm so glad that this book proves the truth of everything I was taught as a child (and adult). Yes!
Heaven IS for real and someday we'll be able to see those who've gone on ahead of us (I can't wait to meet the sister and grandfathers I never knew.

I really didn't think it was very good.

This is an amazing book. God is real and so is heaven. All people should read this book. It is a breath of fresh air, God is amazing and he is good.

Heaven Is For Real - it sure it! The description coming from a very small child should be enough to convince everyone!

READ THIS IF YOU ARE SHARI, SANDRA, YSA, JENEANE, OR ANYONE ELSE, BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY SHARI AND SANDRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

what are you guys smoking. that was one of the best and most amazing books I have read in a long time. and how could you say its not good its not like they made it up, it was a true story, what did you want them to say, did you want them to jazz it up a little. it is what happened in real life. oh and I don't know if I mentioned this, IT WAS A TRUE STORY!!!! and I'm sorry I'm being a little harsh, but come on do you really think this heart warming story about a little boy who dies, goes to heaven, come's back to life, and then tells us what he did throughout the story isn't a good story, I mean even that description I just gave makes me want to read it and that was a petty bad description. Jeneane and Ysa, you guys are awesome, Shari and Sandra, you guys need to read that book again especially you Shari you need to read the whole book and trust me it gets a lot better. personally I think it was a great book from beginning to end but I'm positive it will get better for you.

I read it, I am a christian, so I want believe the narrative. I wish it had been written better.

I think the little boy really did go to heaven. Of course no one can be sure, because not every person who claims he/she goes to heaven is being truthful, but I still find it to be very uplifting.

I would recommend "Chicken Soup for the Christian Soul."
Equally uplifting, although an emotional read. But I think you would like it.

Loved it!

I thought the book was great! I just finished their second book, called Heaven changes everything. It is written exactly the same way. I can't wait for Colton to grow up and write a book in his own words!
I lost my mother at 8 years old in a horrible bike (ten speed not motorcycle)accident I watched happen, though my father lived long enough to meet both his grandchildren I also lost him by age 23, and I believe I will see them again soon! Glad there are books like this out.

I loved this book. True, you can tell it was not written by a professional. But the rambling, storytelling style came off as humble and sincere. I loved all the little stories. The message I took away from Heaven is for Real is a reassurance of how deeply God loves us.

Loved it and right after I read the book I prayed to god on how can I serve him better. My world has flipped upside down and inside out. In both good and bad. I think this book is just amazing(less)

This was the most amazing book I have ever read! It totally strengthened my faith. I lost both my parents within the past few years, and thanks to this book, I have no doubt where they are. It is written with a real innocence. I tried hard to believe the Dad was making this up, but in the end, it was entirely believable.

I guess I will be the black hat thinker here. I think the book is well written and the reading entertaining. But in my opinion, is a nice story to read, no more than that. Turning the story of a little boy into a blindly-believe-it kind of think, at least for me is a long, long shot.

I enjoyed this book. I was reading it during a particularly hard time in my own faith and was encouraged by the story. What I came away with was the belief that Colton *some kind* of experience. Did he die and go to heaven? I don't know. Was it simply a vision of heaven and Jesus? My theology allows for such things (was not Paul converted with such a thing?). At the end of the day, I would never discount this kids experience nor would I ever tell him he is wrong. It was solidified with the comparison between this child and Akiane's Jesus (another remarkable story). While not all of the theology lines up with what I believe, who's to say that I'm right and he's wrong? Again, not me.

This book was absolutely amazing. My favorite ever. Cried so many times (and I'm not one to cry during books.). It really touched me.

I believe it was a good story line with a lot of truth in it. However, my bible states in 1 John 4:12 that, "No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us." So, I don't agree or believe the parts about this little boys trip to Heaven and seeing God. :)

I thought this book was terrible. In fact, it is one of the few books that I ever abandoned in the middle. I am one of those readers that finishes every book, no matter how bad, and I just couldn't get through this. The writing was awful and it just didn't ring true for me, I read Embraced By The Light and Proof of Heaven, both accounts of near death experiences, and they were much more compelling for me.
