If I can butt in and defend Eleanor & Park for a minute, let me assure you that although it is written loosely on the framework of Romeo & Juliet, it is very loosely. It is not sappy or gooey or anything like that. It *is* sometimes very funny and sometimes very heavy. It is also historical fiction - set in the 1980's. I absolutely loved it and I'm not a big romance person at all. I'm not picking your books or anything, I'm just saying you should give it a try ...sometime. OK, I'm done now. Sorry for the disruption.

Julia, can you give me a Dystopia book next, like I requested?"

Sure :) how about Legend by Marie Lu?

Kate (kaitlins16) So, you can't do the challenge, right?

message 111: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Okay. Thanks for letting me know.

I'll be picking Julia's books too.

message 112: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Hey, Shrishti, did you pick any book's for Julia? I don't know if you did, but I would like to know before I send her my picks for her.

message 113: by Kate (last edited Jun 01, 2013 09:32AM) (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Jojiwoji, I have chosen your books for you!

Looking for Alaska by John Green The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3) by Richelle Mead Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1) by Katie McGarry Fire (Graceling Realm, #2) by Kristin Cashore Slammed (Slammed, #1) by Colleen Hoover

I've read and loved all of the first four, but not Slammed. I've heard such good things about that book, so I think you should read it.

message 114: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Shrishti~Music~Psyche wrote: "I was thinking of giving her Silver Linings Playbook and...what was the other?.....I forgot, lol."

I'll give her that one and Paper Towns by John Green Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver

message 115: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) The Reading Challenge has officially begun!

I'm pretty sure most people have had their books chosen for them (and if not, then please let me know).

After you finish reading one of your books, you may post a review here if you would like to leave feedback on what you've read.

Have fun reading everyone! I know I sure will. :)

Brittany Miranda wrote: "thats awesome Brittany! I take it was good. ive been wanting to read the first one but haven't got around to it. I finished Hex Hall on Sunday and started Hush Hush but its been a slow start im ..."

They're great reads. Definitely get around to them when you can. I hope Hex Hall was good. And hopefully Hush, Hush picks up. I haven't read it, so you'll have to tell me what you think of it.

message 129: by joanne (new)

joanne (cabeswaters) Finished Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1) by Katie McGarry and Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1) by Tahereh Mafi .

I didn't much like Shatter Me, the strikethroughs and digits were annoying, BUT I absolutely LOVED Pushing the Limits! Seriously, it's an absolutely amazing book, I was crying so badly throughout T.T but there is a HEA.

Thanks so much Hannah and Kaitlin for choosing it for me, and to Hannah for choosing Shatter Me!
Will probably leave reviews later.

message 132: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) How is everyone liking the challenge? Is it something you would like to do again?

message 133: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) Hi Kaitlin. I like this challenge and would probably do it again but the short time period makes it hard for me to balance this challenge with other challenges.

message 135: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Thanks for telling me. How long would you suggest making these challenges?

message 136: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (cannefrye) | 19 comments Maybe for the whole month?

message 137: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Okay. I'll go ahead and do that for July.

message 138: by Mandiann (new)

Mandiann (goodreadscommandiann) Yes, a month sounds much more manageable!

message 139: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (cannefrye) | 19 comments Finished Warm Bodies! Really enjoyed it!

Now on to my 3rd and final book: Code Name Verity. <3

And yay! Looking forward to next month!

message 140: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) I'll be finishing my fifth book today (Wander Dust). Then I'm going to post a review for it as well as for the previous three that I read (Let the Sky Fall, Storm, and Slide).

message 141: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Then I'll have three more books to read.

message 142: by [deleted user] (new)

I finished Delirium I think I should aim higher next time

message 143: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) If you would like to, you can try the pick it for me challenge. It's in the same folder as this one.

There really is no structure to that one. You just request someone to pick a book for you to read from a list you give.

message 144: by [deleted user] (new)

Thanks but no thanks :) I'm just gonna try and clear up my list of series that I've started a bit so yeah I'm reading The Iron Daughter :) Are we doing another 2 week challenge this month?

message 145: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Maybe. I'm not sure yet.

message 146: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Actually, I think I have a plan forming for another two week challenge for the second half of June. It would be nice to give you guys something else to do in the group (if you would want to).

message 147: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (melissa_stoia) Yes!! Please do!!

message 148: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Technically, no. But there really is no reason to not allow you to (the purpose of the challenge is just to enjoy reading and clean up your to-read shelves a little bit).

If you want to, you can post a goal and a list of books, and I'll pick them for you. This challenge ends on Saturday.

message 149: by Kate (new)

Kate (kaitlins16) Stephanie wrote: "ok Ill say that by Saturday my goal is 2 books

I'll pick City of Bones and Save Haven for you to read for the challenge.
