I'm in Tucson, Arizona, USA - 63 miles/102 km from the border with Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Southern Arizona used to be part of Mexico until 1853 when the U.S. bought this Sonoran Desert territory from Mexico in the Gadsden Purchase. Tucson is approximately 4% black, 19% Native American (Tohono O'odham, Pasqua Yaqui), 35% Mexican American, and 42% (white Euro-American). Today the weather forecast predicts 79F/26C and sunny. Errin, this is a good time to come and visit us!

Hmm....now I'm thinking I need to visit Sheffield, England (I've been to England but not Sheffield), to Pretoria, South Africa (and Cape Town, too, where I have a friend), to Ireland (I've always wanted to go to Ireland!), and Cairo (great food and art there, I hear), and Errin, I've actually been to your town but in summer. I love, love, love the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
Scanning the list made by homesick as I saw so many familiar places including Pennsylvania, North Carolina and upstate New York. I have to admit I'm a Jersey girl (my burr tends to come out when I'm excited), but now am learning a southern drawl due to a move to the mid-south.

Hopefully you can end up where you're happiest. :-)
