Virginia Arthur | 24 comments Been around the block and then some. Still alive. So busy trying to earn a living while crafting novel three, have been slacking off on marketing my first two Indie novels. Nobody does it for us! We're Indies! Gotta' stay on that horse! Appreciate this site. Appreciate my readers most of all and of course, appreciate reviews.

Thank you,

Julia Pike | 3 comments Hi All,
I am joining as a reviewer and hopefully a published author in the not to distant future. (YA high fantasy querying agents at the moment).
I mostly read YA fantasy but am branching out more to different genres so am happy to try anything.
If you want to look at my reviews on my blog here is the address.
http://juliapike.wordpress.com
I also review on Goodreads, Amazon and NetGalley. I am active on Twitter @pike_jp where links to my reviews are posted and my thoughts of the book along the way.
I look forward to helping out some authors by giving honest reviews.
Thank you,
Julia

Malcolm Vaughn | 3 comments Hello A&R! I'm Malcolm Vaughn. I just finished a book of short stories and would love some reviews. My collection is called Water or Acid? and it is available on Amazon in the Kindle unlimited program. I can also send a PDF if that helps. Thank you for letting me join the group.

Deirdre Hopton (deirdrehopton) | 5 comments Hello! My name is Deirdre Hopton. I'm new to Goodreads, and new to the group. I recently self - published my first book, entitled "March Forth" and available on Amazon here:

https://www.amazon.com/March-Forth-Wo...

The e-book will be available as a free download this weekend, from July 1st-4th. I would love for some of you to check it out and give me some feedback!

Thanks in advance for your time, and I look forward to engaging with the group.

Ulff Lehmann | 7 comments Good (please insert appropriate time of day),

I just recently joined Goodreads and more recently joined this group. I've just launched my first novel, Shattered Dreams, and hope that maybe, I can find some people here who wouldn't mind reviewing something character driven and dark.

If wanted, I can review something of course, but be warned I was part of a review group here in Germany, we called ourselves The Wolf Pack, because everything we read to the others was treated like a chunk of meat, and we tore into it. Then again, if you just wanted to be mollycoddled, you would not ask for reviews from strangers. ;)

message 706: by Emma (new)

Emma Mohr | 8 comments Hello Everyone!

My name is Emma Mohr. I've been on Goodreads for a while now, but just recently started to look into groups. Before I was too focused on writing to even think about them, but with a novel finished, I thought it was time to meet other authors and see what kind of advice some veterans have.

My first novel, The Lovely Garden, is available on Amazon for pre-order. It won't be out until July 19, though I'm starting to think I should release it sooner. I wanted to give myself some time to research on marketing and such, which I finished and I'm anxious to get it out there in the world.

This is a link to the novel: https://www.amazon.com/Lovely-Garden-...

Thank you and I hope to hear more from everyone.

Addy Stedwell (addystedwell) | 3 comments Hi there - my name is Addy and I am new historical romance writer with my first novel The Song of the Ortolan being indie published this summer.

It's exciting and new to me as well as incredibly nerve-wracking, but I am so encouraged by the friendly people that seem to be here on GR supporting new and indie authors like myself! I am looking forward to talking to authors and readers alike and making some new friends!

message 708: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne Paschke (thunderpaws) Hey all,

I've been a lurker on this board for quite a while, but figured it was finally time to step forward and introduce myself.

I'm Suzanne Paschke, an indie author of contemporary romance novels, as well as being an avid reader, teacher, pet owner and general all round busy kind of person.

If I'm not writing I can usually be found with a book in my hand or dueling against some foul beast in a computer game.

It will be interesting getting to know others on here as we all work towards our own reading and writing goals.

Suzanne P :)

Lori Robinson | 2 comments Hi Jackie, thanks for starting this group. I just now joined. I write about conservation and my new book is Saving Wild. I would love to exchange books and reviews with anyone writing about wildlife, animals, conservation.

message 710: by Simone (new)

Simone Martel | 10 comments Hi everyone,
I've been on Goodreads several years, but I haven't joined any groups until now. Last year, I did a giveaway for my story collection, Exile's Garden, and only one of the three winners posted a review. (Though it was a very nice one!) I'm hoping to have better luck getting reviews for my novel, A Cat Came Back, due to be published this December (Harvard Square Editions). I'm looking forward to getting to know people here and, I hope, learning more about (effective) publicity.

Anne Connor | 8 comments Hello! I am a new author and I am looking forward to offering free copies of my new book in exchange for honest reviews on Amazon. If anyone happens to see this and is interested, hop on over to my page to take a look at my cover and blurb and shoot me a quick PM if you'd like to receive a copy. Really looking forward to seeing what people think of it!

Sara (kinglears) Hi! My name's Sara, and I've just gotten started with this whole book blogging thing. However, I feel quite enthusiastic about it. I love reading and promoting indie authors — I mostly read YA, contemporary, historical fiction and post-modern narrative. I usually post my reviews here on Goodreads, but I've very recently opened up a review blog. I'd be more than willing to check your books out and give an honest review!

Morgan Sales | 7 comments Hi I’m Morgan, I’m an indie author with two ebooks out on Amazon: the novel Halcyon Rebirth and the novella The Haunting of a Lord. I tend to struggle categorising them, especially Rebirth but I’d say paranormal mystery fits the bill the best. Anyway if anyone is interested in a reviewing either work, just massage me on here and I’ll email you a free copy over.

Nicole Etolen (nmetolen) | 1 comments Hi everyone! I'm Nikki, owner/writer at PrettyOpinionated.com. I'm also a freelance writer and, of course, voracious reader. I haven't been reviewing books as much as I used to, but I'm trying to get back into it more. I also open my site up to authors for book features and guest posts (I'll add info about that to the appropriate place). I'm a single mom to an 11-year-old boy and have a whole lot of pets. I think that's it? I am notoriously awful at these "introduce yourself" things. I either talk too much or too little!

Martin Rinehart Nikki says, I either talk too much or too little!

You remind me of Jimmy Buffett: Indecision may or may not be part of my problem. (He would later simplify that to: Ambivalent? Well, yes and no.)

Would you be interested in reading a married romance?

Hi Nikki,
Would you be interested in reviewing a non-fiction book in the New Age/Spirituality category? I'm the author of Life After Near Death: Miraculous Stories of Healing and Transformation in the Extraordinary Lives of People With Newfound Powers. Life After Near Death explores a dozen cases of individuals who had near-death experiences and came back with newfound abilities and talents they did not have before the experience. If it's of interest, I'd be happy to send you a hard copy. Thank you!! Debra

Mary Feliciani | 60 comments Jennifer wrote: "hi I'm Jennifer I love reading love books I have wrote some reviews getting better I can review on here and Facebook and Amazon uk"

Hi Jennifer,

I am looking for book reviewers to review 2 of my eBooks, Big and Small in the Mirror, and The Magic Leaf. I have a 3rd book, Humanitarians, Visionaries, Heroes, and You, which is available in print only.

Big and Small in the Mirror is about bullying that happens in the school environment. The two main characters, Carlo and Marco, learn the effects of bullying on their self-images and how positive relationships help them grow. The book is appropriate for children between 8-10 years old.

I provide discussion questions at the end of the book to help parents and teachers facilitate a discussion about bullying, and to put the story in perspective.

The Magic Leaf is about a small-town boy who learns the value of friendship. The appropriate reading age would be 6-8. It has beautiful illustrations.

Humanitarians, Visionaries, Heroes, and You is a collection of 7 inspiring mini-biographies and my own reflections, intended to encourage the reader to join a growing movement towards social responsibility and global citizenship. This book is for an older audience (10 – 12+). It is sold on my website and Amazon.ca.

If you decide to review one or both of the eBooks, I will send a gift eBook/s to you. Both eBooks are on Amazon and in the iBooks Store, so you can choose a Kindle or ePub copy.

If you want a copy of Humanitarians, Visionaries, Heroes, and You, let me know.

Thank you for your time.

Warm regards,
Mary

Anne Meredith | 1 comments Good morning!

I'm back on the time-travel romance radar after a 20+ year sabbatical. (Now I guess I have to live 140 years for that word to be correct.) Formerly a St. Martin's Press author, now indie with a much better series than either of my first books. (Really! You'll laugh, you'll cry.)

I don't have nearly the memory to check this site as often as I should, but I always enjoy the posts and would like to participate more.

I am currently working on IMMORTAL: Book 2 of The Trelawneys of Williamsburg series, follow-up to TENDER (as one might guess, Book 1). Book 1, 1746 Williamsburg VA, Book 2, 1775 Bermuda, Boston, and Williamsburg, and the open seas between.

Happy Friday!

Anne

Rachel Thijssen (rachelthijssen) Hey, I'm Rachel.
I have had two of my books published, but these are in Dutch so I won't bother you with them. And my other manuscripts have not been published yet.
So for now, I would like to help out published authors and review their books :)
My interests: YA, fantasy, scifi, dystopian, (sometimes) historical fiction and anything related to ancient Greece/Rome/Egypt.

Alicia Dean (alicia_dean) | 7 comments I don't recall if I introduced myself before, but I am doing so again, because I plan to become more active. I am a reader and author and my first love is suspense/thriller/mystery. I am always on the lookout for good suspense, especially involving serial killers (I know, I'm twisted :)), and lately, I prefer stories with no romance. Any recommendations are appreciated! (Although, that's probably a post for a different topic/thread. :) Have a great day, all!

I am certainly interested in reading your books and am going to visit their pages on Amazon now.

As a matter of fact, I just published the fifth title of my Freedom in Love Series, which appears to be an on-going series, at this point, since my characters won't leave me alone. My series deals with subjects comparable to yours and the books definitely bring forth a variety of emotions. Good luck with promoting your trilogy...

I have also linked my website and Facebook page if anyone is interested.

Aurora Night is an orphaned teenager who has recently moved to Edinburgh to start a new life. There she meets the mysterious William Wolf, from whom she learns of the existence of Mystic Haven, an ancient magical world that exists alongside the human one.

As Aurora becomes embroiled in a conflict between the Shadow Walkers and Queen Agathe, danger follows her every step. Vampires and other creatures she thought only existed in the realms of fairy tales and nightmares, relentlessly hunt her.

Aurora soon finds solace with her newfound friends, Veronica, Garnet and Kan, but discovers they are not all they seem... but neither is she…
