Carolyn F. Violin by Anne Rice and Beauty Queens by Libba Bray , both books I couldn't finish but unlike you, I'm not planning on going back for another try.

I finally made it through Ulysses in audio, but this one eludes me. Above I saw "Violin" and would have agreed with that one, but I was stuck on a plane with it, and about 200 pages in it got better, so I finished it. It would otherwise be on this list though...
