Another member made me think about some books that I have prepared to read but never done so. There are several that fall into that category. I have resolved to read some of these books this year. What about you?

Kristen Lavransdatter by Sigrid Unset - my beloved grandmother's favorite book. She marked in the fly leaf each time she read it. And, yes, I have her copy!Sigrid Unset
Carolyn, I, too have abandoned several books: Symphony by Charles Grant is one I have tried but will never try again.
Sarum by Edward Rutherford. I've tried to read it about five times, always get to the same bit, and give up.
Cloud Atlas - found it difficult to get into. It has so many good reviews, perhaps I should try it again
The Knife of Never Letting Go ...... The writing style is so new to me. :\ I have this book for almost a year now.

Finnegans WakeI finally made it through Ulysses in audio, but this one eludes me. Above I saw "Violin" and would have agreed with that one, but I was stuck on a plane with it, and about 200 pages in it got better, so I finished it. It would otherwise be on this list though...
Started to read Gilead, which was an award-winning book, a couple of times, and just couldn't get into it.
