Thanks SO MUCH for mentioning these. I've copied them over to my Kindle, and will read them all once I've finished the original book.

This was a good reminder - I haven't read them yet.
The agents who work for the NATO Irregular Affairs Division can’t tell anyone what they do, or how hard they work to keep us safe. It brings a colorful collection of men together:
Agent Henry Falk, the undead bum. Agent Keith Curry, former carnivore chef turned vegetarian; Agent Rake, Babylonian demon with a penchant for easy living; and Agent Silas August, uncompromising jerk.
Four cities, four mysteries, four times the romance. Is your security clearance high enough to read on?
I don't often read fantasy stories, but was drawn to this by the good reviews, and the reputation of each of the four authors; Nicole Kimberling, Josh Lanyon, Astrid Amara and Ginn Hale. They have produced four novellas (of a good length) all set in the same world. I found each story very interesting and thought provoking, although they are light reading. There were characters I could believe in and warm to, despite the fact that they many were from a parallel world and were, in the main part, hardened to the darker side of life (or unlife in Henry's case).
I've been following the discussion about Ginn Hale's Rifter with interest, and having read The Irregulars, I think I will give it a try.
I wonder if there will be another series of stories set in this world in time, there is certainly scope, but this edition has set a very high standard.
